STATEMENT OF WORK
FOR
U.S. COAST GUARD AIR STATION SITKA OWNED FAMILY HOUSING, FUEL LINES
REPLACEMENT ON ALL BOILER SERVICE TANKS.
PART 1 GENERAL
1.01 INTENT: to replace existing Supply fuel lines with Stainless Steel fuel lines from the
9 housing fuel tanks that feed to the housing boilers and cap/abandoned the return lines (no longer in use)
1.02 SCOPE: Contractor shall meet the desired outcome listed below and perform to the standards indicated.
A. Contractor will replace existing pipe bungs with Stainless Steel pipe bungs (bungs provided by the unit)
B. Contractor will replace existing pipe with Stainless Steel pipe from the bung up to the flexible hose in the vault pipe chase. (Pipe and fittings will be provided by the unit, pipe over 6” will need to be cut and threaded.)
C. Contractor will replace and pipe hangers with cushioned pipe hangers.
D. Contractor will establish prime on the tiger loop in the boiler room.
E. 15 total supply lines will be replaced in total.
F. Contractor will coordinate and provide methods to drain the fuel tanks as needed if bungs cannot be removed by hand.
1.03 REQUIREMENTS: Contractor shall provide personnel who have the knowledge;
qualifications and experience to perform the functions outlined in the Statement of Work. Contractor shall follow all OSHA and state environmental regulation as pertaining to this statement of work. The contractor shall also replace fuel lines on servicing fuel tanks in the following order of precedence. The priority fuel lines needing to be replaced would start at the servicing tank at unit 11, Fuel lines servicing units 1 & 2, Fuel lines servicing units 3 & 4, Fuel lines servicing units 9 & 10, Fuel lines servicing units 7 & 8, Fuel lines servicing unit 14, Fuel lines servicing unit 15, Fuel lines servicing units 5 & 6, and Fuel lines servicing units 12 & 13.
1.04 Unit: Contractor will provide cushioned style pipe hangers and necessary material and tools for successful fuel line installation and operation.
1.05 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED: The government shall provide the following.
A. Stainless Steel pipe, unions, couplings, valves, and pipe bungs.
1.06 CONTRACTOR FURNISHED: The contractor shall provide the following:
A. All labor, materials, cushioned pipe hangers, and supervision in order to accomplish the below requirements for replacing the fuel lines on 9 fuel tanks.
1.07 CONTRACT TIMELINE:
A. Upon contract award. Contractor will have 60 days to complete the work.
1.08 CONTINUITY OF FACILITIES OPERATION: Schedule work to minimize interference with the facilities normal operations. Notify the Facility Engineer 24 hours in advance of any shutdowns. Perform all on-site work between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday (Federal Holidays excluded), unless otherwise approved by the Contracting Officer or Contracting officer’s Representative.
1.09 LIABILITY OF DAMAGES. The contractor shall be liable for all damages to Government equipment and property when such damage is due to fault or negligence of the contractor. The contractor shall be responsible for all damages or injury to persons that occur, as a result of the contractor’s fault or negligence. The contractor shall take proper safety and health precautions to protect the workers, the public, and the property of others.
