Tasks for this effort will be performed at the Contractor’s facilities, NRL-DC, Norfolk, NRL Chesapeake Bay Detachment at Chesapeake Beach, MD and other Government Field sites. Some of the work will need to be performed aboard sea vessels.
1.1 Background
The objective of the MOTHR system is to develop a long-range surveillance architecture and demonstrate key capabilities in HF radar and communications on a mobile platform. The Radar Division at NRL is currently designing and developing such a system under an effort called Wide Area Radar Network (WARN). One of the main tasks under WARN is to deploy a HF OTH radar, separate Transmit and Receive systems, that can be deployed at sea. NRL is currently involved in the concept definition and design on various concept studies and projects, which will determine the final prototype system.
This work statement requires the Contractor to support technology advancements, system requirements definition, architecture maturation, system and unit design and finally development and transition to an operational system to support the effort.
