MYTE TRANSMITTER MODIFICATION
STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)
1.0 BACKGROUND
The requiring activity is the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren
Division (NSWCDD), . The Branch provides engineering expertise to meet emergent and ongoing warfighter needs on a rapid response basis. The
Pharos program develops remote emplaced sensor devices, of which some utilize Myte Transmitter modems for communications.
Modifications to the Myte modem will enable Pharos engineers with the ability to research and develop new communication capabilities in line with emerging technologies. These modifications will supply both the flexibility, along with form, fit, and factor to permit shorter development times and more reliable products with enhanced features in the future, all while maintaining current capabilities.
2.0 APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1 Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Specifications
3.0 REQUIREMENTS
3.l The contractor shall generate firmware that allows the Myte transmitter to set new control registers allowing for configurable frequency of operation over existing I2C serial communications and also allow for control registers to be set at the Fractional-N synthesizer to drive the operating frequency for transmitting and that allows the Myte transmitter to operate at a frequency range between 1.5 GHz to 1.7 GHz at a minimum and potentially higher if feasible.
3.2 The contractor shall generate Myte spreading code to be set via new control registers, configurable over existing I2C serial communications. Control registers will allow setting the spreading polynomial and epoch seed. The transmitter spreading method will remain unchanged (8-bit PRC, 255 MLS, 49 code reps per symbol, chipping rate 1.25MHz). Epoch seed will enable symbol: code alignment customization.
3.3 The contractor shall ensure the customized Myte transmitter retains the capability to operation properly over the Globalstar
Simplex system if the added registers remain unset (zero). Utilizing the new frequency and chipping code features will render the device inoperative over the Globalstar Simplex system.
3.4 The contractor shall provide object code (hex) compatible with the Myte transmitter.
3.5 The contractor shall provide documentation for serial commands to set the parameters.
3.6 The contractor shall provide a test report demonstrating device operation over frequency range and changed spreading code.
3.7 The contractor shall provide documentation describing new features added to the Myte, to include descriptive use of the new registers added for configuration and control of the new features and use of the provided spreadsheet of serial commands.
3.8 The contractor shall provide three production Myte devices with the updated firmware installed, checked for operation and quality assurance, no later than ninety (90) days after receipt of the order.
3.9 The contractor shall coordinate with the Technical Point of
Contract (TPOC) identified below within ten (10) business days after delivery of firmware to provide firmware changes/revisions, if required by the government.
OPTIONAL SERVICES
3.10 The contractor shall provide additional engineering services, not to exceed fifteen personnel days, to address additional requirements realized during initial design or changes/revisions to the firmware required before final delivery and government acceptance.
*The contractor shall not perform any services outside of the base consulting and engineering services identified in sections 3.1 through 3.9. If any additional engineering services are identified as a result of the base work provided, the contractor shall submit a quote to the TPOC and Contracting Officer for approval and subsequent contract modification prior to completing any additional services.
*The Government reserves the right to modify this contract at a later date to cover additional engineering services identified as a result of the initial work provided.
4.0 DATA DELIVERABLES
4.1 The contractor shall provide data in accordance with (IAW) CDRL
A001; and
4.2 The contractor shall provide data IAW CDRL A002.
5.0 TRAVEL
The contractor may be required to travel during the performance of this contract. The number of trips and types of personnel traveling shall be limited to the minimum required to accomplish work requirements and shall be coordinated with the technical point of contact. All travel shall be conducted in accordance with the
Federal Travel Regulations (FTR). The following travel is anticipated: one (1) personnel to Dahlgren, VA during the period of performance.
6.0 TECHNICAL POINT OF CONTACT
Provided upon award.
