PART 1 – STATEMENT OF WORK

1.1 Project Overview: This document sets forth the scope of work for the replacement of collapsed clay sewerage pipes located at 175A, 175B Circle F Street and 19 Cliff Road - USCG Housing Facilities.

Replacing collapsed clay sewerage pipes with PVC pipes is essential to address the critical infrastructure needs of a sewer system. The deterioration and collapse of the clay pipes have led to a range of problems, including sewage backups, environmental contamination, and structural damage. Replacement is necessary to restore the functionality and integrity of the sewer system.

1.2 SCOPE: Provide all personnel, labor, equipment, materials, tools, supervision, and other items necessary for construction.

The work includes, but is not limited to the following:

1.2.2 Permitting and Planning: Obtain all necessary permits and approvals from local authorities for the sewer line replacement project. Develop a detailed project plan outlining the scope of work, timeline, and budget.

1.2.3 Material Procurement: Procure high-quality PVC pipes, fittings, connectors, and other necessary materials for the sewer line replacement.

1.2.4 Temporary Sewer Bypass: (if necessary) Establish a temporary sewer bypass system to ensure uninterrupted sewer service during the replacement process.

1.2.5 Excavation and Removal: Excavate the area along the collapsed sewer line to expose the damaged clay pipes. Carefully remove the collapsed clay pipes while minimizing disruption to the surrounding area. Cut surrounding trees that will be an issue to complete project and dispose of vegetation.

1.2.6 Installation of PVC Pipes: Install the new PVC pipes in the place of the old clay pipes, ensuring proper alignment and slope for efficient drainage. Secure the PVC pipes with appropriate fittings and connectors to create a watertight and durable sewer line.

1.2.7 Connection to Existing System: Connect the new PVC pipes to the existing sewer system, ensuring proper seals and transitions between different pipe materials.

1.2.8 Testing and Inspection: Conduct pressure (if necessary) testing and inspections to verify the integrity and functionality of the new PVC sewer line. Address any leaks, blockages, or issues identified during testing.

1.2.9 Site Restoration: Backfill the excavation area with suitable material and restore the site to its original condition. Ensure proper compaction of backfill to prevent settling and damage to the new sewer line.

1.2.10 Final Inspection and Documentation: Arrange for a final inspection by relevant authorities to approve the new sewer line installation. Provide documentation of the replacement work, including record drawings, test results, and any necessary certifications.
