SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPE (SEM) PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE (PM)
STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)
1.0 BACKGROUND
The requiring activity is the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), is tasked with a TIP replacement for the SEM microscope and preventive maintenance. The microscope is necessary for many projects for microanalysis and elemental analysis of samples. The service will consist of replacing the old tip and spending time shaping the tip and baking out the instrument to restore the proper vacuum for operation. Yearly annual required maintenance tasks will also be performed during this time.
2.0 APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS

3.0 REQUIREMENTS
3.1 The Contractor shall provide the items listed in the Materials List attached and replace the tip and begin vacuum restoration with preliminary baking of the ion pumps through the turbo pump.
3.2 The Contractor shall start ion pumps and setting a full bake with the ion pumps isolated.
3.3 The Contractor shall discharge test, rounding the FE Tip to the appropriate extraction voltage, preliminary image check and setting another gun bake.
3.4 The Contractor shall discharge test, alignment of the column and FE Bombardment to condition the gun following the bake. Depending on the vacuum levels and beam stability another bake may be set at this time.
3.5 The Contractor shall discharge test, alignment of the column and FE Bombardment to condition the gun following the bake if needed.
3.6 The Contractor shall ensure the equipment is operating in accordance with OEM specifications once the work is complete.
3.7 The Contractor shall coordinate with the technical point of contact (TPOC) identified below to complete this work.
4.0 GOVERNMENT-FURNISHED PROPERTY/MATERIAL/INFORMATION
