About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of a PerkinElmer Quantulus GCT 6220 BGO Low Energy/Activity Liquid Scintillation Counter. The unit must possess specific salient characteristics, including E2/B sensitivity of >131,000 for tritium in low-level count mode, a BGO detector for low-level sensitivity, Windows 10 compatibility, integration with existing Tricarb units, data export capability, a sample capacity of >400 20 mL samples, and a cooling mechanism to increase sensitivity and lower background counting capability. Key requirements include alpha and beta separation analysis, sample replay capability, Ethernet and USB connectivity, and the ability to operate on 100-240 Vac 50/60 Hz power. The vendor shall also provide unquenched LSC standards, manufacturer training and support, and a standard warranty.
The related federal contract opportunity is a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the Quantulus GCT 6220 Low Activity Liquid Scintillation Counter, issued by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Research Laboratory. The solicitation number is COMBO-AFRL-PZLEQ-2024-0011.

Statement of Work
Title: PerkinElmer Quantulus GCT 6220 BGO Low Energy/Activity Liquid Scintillation Counter
Document Date: 17 May 2024
Background: This instrument is used for the ultra-low background analysis for tritium in bioassay samples.
Scope: The vendor shall provide a PerkinElmer Quantulus GCT 6220 BGO Low Energy/Activity Liquid Scintillation Counter. The unit shall run on an internal or external PC using Windows 10 and include the following:
Quantulus GCT 6220TR 110 V Unquenched LSC standards, 20ml vials Unquenched Low Level 3H, 14C & BKD STDS Manufacturer standard online training and support Installation
Requirement/Salient Characteristics: The benchtop low activity liquid scintillation counter shall possess the following salient characteristics:
E2/B sensitivity is >131000 for Tritium in low level count mode, crucial to the detection of low activity tritium in bioassay samples
Utilize a BGO detector for low level sensitivity Include a computer that runs on Windows 10 Integrate with existing Tricarb Units for assay continuity across multiple machines Export data in custom comma delimited text for import into Laboratory Information
System, EDD report format must be editable to integrate to current LIMS Sample capacity of >400 20 mL samples at one time Equipped with cooling mechanism (internal) to lower temps on sample and detector to increase sensitivity and lower the ambient background counting capability Alpha and beta separation analysis Sample replay capability (reanalyze without recounting) Ethernet (LAN) and USB connectivity for data transfer Enhanced instrument performance assessment database to monitor efficiencies, backgrounds, E2/B and Chi-square values for H3, C14 over the life of instrument Contain Ba133 low energy external standard source and tSIE to eliminate the need to repeat counting the external standard to evaluate sample quench parameters Operate on 100-240 Vac 50/60 Hz (3 prong grounded plug) Industry standard manufacturer warranty
