STATEMENT OF WORK
Oils and Greases BPA Procurement
1.0 BACKGROUND
1.1 The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) develops and produces United States currency notes, trusted worldwide. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing needs to maintain a calculated quantity of spare, repair and supporting parts in our storerooms located in Washington, D.C. These important readily available parts help support the manufacturing process in providing high quality print products of which the primary is United States Currency.
2.0 PURPOSE
2.1 Product, Service or Outcome Needed.
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), at both the Eastern Currency Facility (ECF) and the Western Currency Facility (WCF) has a requirement to replace consumable spare parts such as Oils, and Greases using a BPA. The Oils and Greases are used to clean and lubricate numbering blocks used in COPE, LEPE, & NS-LEPE. After a set number of prints operations stopped and the numbering blocks are properly maintained for quality currency prints. The individual ordering of these items lead to repeated stock outs and lessened product quality/repeatability goals. Purchasing these consumable spare parts using the IDIQ/BPA method will support currency manufacturing goals for the next 5 years by improving efficiency with decreased procurement processing time.
