About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details nanoparticle tracking analysis services for the San Francisco VA Medical Center's long COVID research. The project requires analyzing 291 extracellular vesicle samples using a ZetaView x30 system to identify blood biomarkers that differentiate Veterans who have recovered from COVID versus those experiencing long-term effects. Specific analysis requirements include measuring particles between 10-1000 nm, determining particle size distribution, calculating mean/median/mode size, and reporting concentration in particles/mL, with fluorescence detection capability mandatory.
The VA intends to sole source this contract to Alpha Nano Tech, LLC in Chapel Hill, NC under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The procurement falls under NAICS code 541380 (Testing Laboratories and Services) with a small business size standard of $19.0 million. The contract will be for Health R&D Services: Applied Research, and all work must comply with VA Central Institutional Review Board (IRB) and HIPAA data handling protocols. Delivery will be to the San Francisco VAMC, with point of contact Paul Betancourt, SRA III.
