About this file

This is a Statement of Work for permanent pavement marking and striping services on Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Shiprock Agency routes within the SA-DOT Road Inventory in the Northern Navajo Agency. The contractor must retrace existing permanent pavement markings and apply new waterborne traffic markings with glass beads on designated BIA routes (N57, N365, N368, N504, N509, N510, N545, N546, N551, N552, N553, N562, N571, and N5031), with quantities specified for solid yellow lines, solid white lines, broken yellow lines, broken white lines, stop bars, arrows, combination arrows, and the word "ONLY." The work conforms to FP24 (Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects), Section 634 – Permanent Pavement Markings.

The contractor is responsible for mobilization with personnel and equipment, furnishing accurate field quantities for each completed route, cleaning pavement surfaces prior to application, providing traffic control with a follow truck and beacons, obtaining storage for materials and equipment, removing spills, and bearing all costs for equipment and labor stand-by and damages to existing structures. Type B waterborne pavement markings must be applied when temperatures are above 50°F at a minimum wet film thickness of 15 mils or 107 square feet per gallon, with glass beads applied immediately following application. The contractor must provide current equipment calibration certification at least seven calendar days before the field demonstration and conduct a 100–200-foot field demonstration to verify adequacy before full production begins. Payment is made per linear foot for four pavement marking types (solid white, solid yellow, broken yellow, and broken white), measured along the centerline of each line applied. The BIA will stake existing marking limits, provide onsite personnel for traffic control and technical assistance, and compare quantities daily for accuracy.
