The Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology requires comprehensive maintenance coverage for the government-owned instrument (System ID BH006410), which is critical for research on protein and chromatin structures related to cancer.

The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for on-site maintenance performed at 37 Convent Drive, Building 37, Room B134. Required services include two preventive maintenance inspections (PMI) per contract period consisting of thorough cleaning, calibration, adjustment, inspection, lubrication, and testing of all equipment components including the console, magnet, cryoplatform, cooling unit, and cryoprobe. Emergency repair service must be provided during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, excluding Federal Holidays) with response within twenty-four hours of notification; all emergency repairs are included at no additional cost to the government. Preventive Maintenance Service of a 700 MHz NMR Instrument.

2.0 BACKGROUND

The Laboratory of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (LBMB) carries out basic research into the mechanisms underlying cell growth, division, differentiation and homeostasis with a focus on the biology of chromosomes and the cell nucleus. LBMB fosters an interdisciplinary approach in which the methods of biophysics, biochemistry, genetics and cell biology are used in an interactive and collaborative research environment to solve problems of fundamental importance.

The NMR instrument is a critical piece of laboratory equipment that is central to several key studies on protein and chromatin structure. We are seeking a new contract to continue the service coverage of this instrument.

3.0 OBJECTIVES
