About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for Industrial Hygiene Sampling and Analysis Services issued by the U.S. Department of Energy's Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) located in Princeton, New Jersey.

PPPL requires a subcontractor to provide industrial hygiene sampling and analysis services including laboratory analysis, sampling media (filters, sorbent tubes, badges), and technical support as ordered by authorized PPPL personnel. The subcontractor must maintain American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) Laboratory Accreditation Programs (LAP) accreditation for all requested analytes and comply with OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910 Subpart Z), NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods, OSHA sampling protocols, and ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Key performance requirements include: acknowledging receipt of samples within 24 hours of arrival; delivering sampling media within five business days of request with a minimum six-month shelf life; analyzing samples within holding times specified by applicable methods; notifying PPPL of any method discontinuations, sample damage, or analytical equipment failures; and delivering analytical reports within five to ten business days of receipt (standard delivery) or faster for rush requests. The vendor must provide high-quality media, standardized collection instructions, technical consultation regarding limits of detection and quantification, and Chain of Custody documentation with all shipments. Reports must include the purchase order number, sample IDs, analysis dates, analytical methods used, limits of quantitation, and results in appropriate units. The laboratory director or lead chemist should hold an advanced degree in chemistry or related sciences and relevant professional certifications such as Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). No anticipated volume of services is specified in the SOW.
