STATEMENT OF WORK
FOR
REPAIR/OVERHAUL OF WP-3D HYDRAULIC FLIGHT CONTROL ASSEMBLY (2)
FOR
NATIONAL OCEANIC ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION (NOAA)
AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS CENTER (AOC)
Requisition #: 140800-24-0011
Contract Specialist: Wendy Culbreth, wendy.culbreth@noaa.gov Invoicing POC: LCDR Danielle Varwig, danielle.varwig@noaa.gov Technical POC: Mr. Tim Wolard, timothy.wolard@noaa.gov
Background:
NOAA AOC operates two WP-3D Orion aircraft in support of several operational projects, most notably tropical cyclone reconnaissance and research. Each aircraft is equipped with an aileron, rudder, and elevator hydraulic assembly and flight control booster which control the aircraft during flight. These hydraulic components occasionally develop malfunctions during flight rendering the aircraft non-airworthy. The component is thus removed for maintenance. AOC does not have the resources necessary to accomplish the work required, as detailed below.
Scope of work:
Evaluate and determine the cause of malfunction and/or leak of WP-3D flight control assemblies, control boosters, and their subcomponents. Repair or overhaul as required and return to NOAA AOC. Hydraulic assemblies and control booster repairs may include removal and replacement of sub-components and consumables. The work may also consist of replacing seals, O-rings, valves, or servo valves to make the component functional for installation on the aircraft.
NOAA AOC will submit the following components and subcomponents for repair:
· Rudder Flight Control Hydraulic Assembly; P/N 938000-111
· Rudder Flight Control Booster; P/N 938001-111
· Elevator Flight Control Hydraulic Assembly; P/N 938004-111
· Elevator Flight Control Booster; P/N 938005-111
· Aileron Flight Control Hydraulic Assembly; P/N 938002-111
· Aileron Flight Control Booster; P/N 938003-111
