Statement of Work

1.0 Background

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Alaska Fire Service (AFS) is soliciting proposals for the completion of an Accurex UL 300 Fire Protection System. This system is being installed in a new dining facility located in Galena Alaska. The installation is approximately 90% complete at this time.

2.0 Objective

The Contractor will be responsible for the completion of the installation, testing, and certification. At the completion of the project the Accurex Hood will be placed in service. The Hood identified as H-1 in the attached Kitchen Ventilation Elevation.pdf is already installed per the manufacturer instructions. EF-1 is installed with power and control wiring ran back to the Vari-Flow panel which is mounted, electrical circuit ran to breaker panel, and ready for completion. The following punch list of items are required to be completed in order to fulfill this requirement. These items are also referenced as Distributor Responsibilities in the attached documents UL300section1 and UL300section2 as the items required to complete the installation.

Contractor to Supply and Install

· (1) Ansul Automan Regulated Mechanical Release Assembly

· (1) Single Tank Enclosure Assembly with Hose and Grommet

· (2) Agent Tank Assembly

· (2) ANSULEX Low pH Liquid Fire Suppressant

· (1) Double Tank Nitrogen Cartridge

· (2) DPDT Microswitch for BLM provided and contractor installed Vent Hood Controller and Shunt Trip Breaker

· (1) Manual Reset Relay for BLM provided and installed Electric Gas Valve

· (1) Remote Manual Pull Station including ½” EMT Conduit, Pulley Elbows and Stainless Steel Wire Rope

· (11) Scissor Style Detector Linkage and Fusible Links including ½” EMT Conduit, Pulley Elbows and Stainless Steel Wire Rope

· Connect Agent Tank Assemblies to 3/8” Black Pipe Distribution Piping and intertie Accurex Vent Hood(s)

· Ensure that cooking equipment is within the factory installed nozzle coverages. Adjust nozzles as required.

· (1) 6.0L K Class Fire Extinguisher

Installation and Certification shall be completed by a contractor that holds the proper licenses with the State of Alaska for the Scope of Work and performed in accordance with the Ansul R-102 Restaurant Fire Suppression System Design, Installation, Recharge and Maintenance Manual, NFPA 10, NFPA 17A, NFPA 70 and NFPA 96.

The Contractor shall not conduct any work that is beyond this Statement of Work and accompanying specifications unless directed in writing by the Contracting Officer (CO). Any work done by the Contractor beyond this SOW and accompanying specifications without direction from the CO will be at the contractor’s own risk and at no additional cost to AFS.

3.0 Requirements

The Contractor shall provide all equipment, materials, tools and supervision as needed to complete the services that meet the technical requirements in this Statement of Work (SOW). All work shall be completed during normal daytime business hours.

The Contractor must provide own transportation to and from Galena. Alaska Fire Service will provide lodging and meals in Galena provided the project is completed prior to September 1, 2023. If the project extends beyond September 1st Alaska Fire Service will still provide lodging, meals will not be provided and a kitchenette for cooking will be available. Project must be completed prior to October 1, 2023 as no lodging will be available after this date.

The Contractor shall be regularly employed in the business of installing, repairing, maintaining fire suppression systems. The Contractor shall be a well-established business that has been in existence a minimum of three (3) years.

The work shall be executed in a diligent manner in accordance with a negotiated firm fixed price and performance period. The performance period for the project shall be completed in 90 days from the award date.

All materials and workmanship must be covered by the standard manufacture warranty of no less than one year from the installation acceptance date.

4.0 Deliverables

Contractor must provide operation and maintenance training upon completion of the installation to maintenance shop personnel.

All workmanship shall be of good quality and performed in a skillful manner as determined by the COR.

All materials and equipment incorporated into the project shall be new unless otherwise noted. The Contractor shall transport and safeguard all materials including debris and equipment required for the work.
