Statement of Work (SOW) Project: Granular Fertilizer Applicator – Columbia, MO
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work:
Acquire a granular fertilizer applicator for conducting cropping systems research at the USDA-ARS Cropping Systems and Water Quality Research Unit, Columbia, MO.
2.0 Background:
The USDA-ARS-CSWQRU conducts precision cropping systems research at the plot and field scale. A key part of the research is applying granular fertilizer products at a well-controlled rate. As the existing fertilizer applicator is nearing the end of its functional life, a new applicator is required. So that operators are not required to learn a new system the applicator needs to use one of the two types of delivery control systems currently in use in the research unit, either Raven or ISOBUS. To provide efficiency of operation, the system must have the capacity to apply fertilizer to a 30-ft swath at a rate of at least 100 lbs/ac while traveling at 6 mi/hr.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:
The fertilizer applicator must meet the following functional requirements:
