Version 11-30-2016-1 FAR Part 11—Describing Agency Needs
STATEMENT OF WORK
GENERAL INFORMATION
Title of Project:
DNA extraction and genotyping services
Statement of Need and Purpose:
DNA extraction and genotyping services of DNA samples in support of research in Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) .
Background Information and Objective:
Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rare disorder where the muscles are attacked by the immune system causing peripheral nerve cell damage. The underlying cause is not fully understood. It has been observed that some individuals can develop GBS after having flu or other infections, or in days or weeks after receiving vaccination. Here, we aim to delineate the genetic risks that predisposes individuals to acquiring GBS. This knowledge will help in the stratification of individuals in patient care and vaccine recommendation and administration.
Period of Performance:
8 months

Acceptable quantity of DNA is defined as a yield of 50ng per sample. Acceptable quality of DNA is defined as absorbance 260/280 ratio value equal to 1.8nm, and an absorbance 260/230 ratio value greater than 2.0nm.
Version 11-30-2016-1 FAR Part 11—Describing Agency Needs
After consultation with the Government, samples passing this criteria will then be approved for genotyping processing. The Vendor shall perform array-based genotyping on extracted DNA using the Illumina Infinium iSelect 24x1 HTS Custom Beadchip. The Vendor shall provide raw and processed genotyping data to the Government via upload to a secure system such as SFTP, DNANexus, or similar within 4 weeks of receiving purchase order.
LEVEL OF EFFORT:
Vendor staff shall provide the assay results to the Government via secure file transfer
DELIVERY OR DELIVERABLES
