STATEMENT OF WORK 08/06/2021

PHOTON DOPPLER VELOCIMETRY (PDV) SYSTEM

1.0 SCOPE

1.1 This Statement of Work (SOW) will define the requirements for the procurement of one (1) eight (8) channel Photon Doppler Velocimetry (PDV) system for use at the B352 Pyrotechnics

Test Facility. The PDV system will be used for velocity measurements of development and flight hardware testing at Johnson Space Center Energy Systems Test Area (JSC-ESTA).

2.0 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

2.1 PDV Requirements

• PDV system shall be turnkey and contain all components necessary to make velocity measurements (excluding digitizer and probes)

• PDV system shall be minimum 8 channels

• System shall have a minimum 8 PDV modules and meet the following requirements:

o Heterodyne System o Minimum 20 GHz Optical Receiver o FC/APC connectors o Splitter for laser reference shall be provided

• Laser source shall be a standard 1550 nm wavelength laser and be classified as class 3B

• Reference lasers shall have a minimum 10 mW for each channel output

• Signal lasers shall have a minimum 40 mW but no more than 500 mW output for each channel

• PDV system shall be rack mounted, portable, and provide adequate space for mounting a digital oscilloscope. Laser and Probe breakout or connection panel shall be provided.

2.2 Engineering

• Copies of final detailed engineer drawings, electrical schematics, user manuals, and parts lists shall be provided to NASA JSC.

2.3 System training, installation, and checkout

• Vendor shall perform on site at NASA JSC: installation of the system, initial system checkouts, and training. NASA JSC will provide required digitizer and test articles to perform initial system checkouts.

3.0 DELIVERY SCHEDULE

• PDV system in this SOW shall be delivered to NASA/JSC 20 weeks ARO.
