SCOPE OF WORK
Conservation Genetics building at 227 Washington Avenue Lamar, PA.
Purpose: Leaking Domestic Water Line

Project: Replace water line from domestic meter to structure.
1. Project Background and Description
The ¾ inch underground pipe has a leak in the line of 250 linear feet of copper pipe. The copper pipe is estimated to be greater than fifty years. The leak revealed itself over the winter of 2020-21, and has escalated leakage in the tens-of-thousands of gallons per month.
2. Project Scope
Replacement of water pipe from the municipal water meter to the NW.
(frontage) of the structure. Trench approximately 250’ and below frost line.
The excavation path will encounter an active FWS roadway and the front sidewalk to the main entrance to building. Contractor shall be responsible for coordinating and validating utility location(s).
3. Deliverables
Replace 250 linear feet of water pipe from the PA American water meter and tying in to main water entrance at the NW (frontage) of the structure. Trench at 4’ or below frost line and navigating across an active FWS. roadway, Washington Avenue, which is the main entrance road to the facility. Minimal disruption of flow of traffic is preferred, whether excavating and filling in in one day, or boring under roadway. Preferred piping would consist of a rigid plastic material e.g. PEX, or PVC. Pipe shall be bedded with a suitable aggregate.

4. Timeline/Schedule
The Center’s management staff would prefer the work to be started in the late September and early October timeframe, as this would be optimal for scheduling and planning purposes.
