About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) establishes maintenance requirements for a FEI Talos F200S Scanning Transmission Electron Microscope (STEM) with serial number D6342. The contractor must provide one planned preventive maintenance inspection annually and maintain the equipment to original manufacturer performance specifications. Services include modifications, repairs, adjustments to correct performance deviations, major parts coverage including system software and applicable software upgrades, and component exchange or modification when approved by the Contracting Officer or COTR.
The contractor must provide unlimited emergency service visits and technical phone support at no additional cost during regular business hours (8:00am - 5:00pm), with best effort response within two working days for breakdowns rendering the instrument inoperable. All services must be performed by factory-trained service engineers and include labor, travel, living expenses, and replacement of defective components. However, several items are excluded from coverage including third-party software updates (unless free), system consumables except FEG source, column sources, chemicals, gases, liquids, calibration samples, vacuum parts like gauges and pump seals, sample grids, disposables, apertures, and small tooling. The government may perform basic maintenance such as cleaning apertures and o-rings, and may attempt simple repairs under contractor direction, though successful repairs remain the contractor's responsibility.
