Statement of Work Project: Procure Programmable Seed Counter

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.0 Scope of Work: The USDA Germplasm Enhancement of Maize Project, located at the

North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station in Ames, IA, requires a programmable seed counter to work in conjunction with, and must be compatible with, the existing Almaco PowerPlant system current in use in research plot planting.

2.0 Background: The Germplasm Enhancement of Maize Project travels across the state of Iowa conducting maize breeding research. This programmable seed counting carousel will be utilized to count yield trial location entries. The specific requirements for the seed counter include, but are not limited to, compatibility with our current Almaco PowerPlant system.

CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks: Seed counter must meet or exceed the following specifications and be set up and ready upon delivery:

• Seed counter shall be programmable

• Seed counter must include data matching – able to match source and packet IDs.

• Seed counter must be able to accurately count up to 100 seeds per second.

• Seed counter must operate with enough sensitivity and be adjustable for a variety of seed types.

• Seed counter power source – 120V 15A AC.

• Seed counter operational and programmable software must be compatible with existing Almaco PowerPlant carousel.

• Seed counter must be compatible and fit an existing Almaco Carousel.

• Seed counter must be fully compatible with existing Almaco PowerPlant system.

• Qty: 1

4.0 Deliverable/Schedule: Shall be delivered complete within 30 days of date of award.

5.0 Evaluation Factors: Lowest Price Technical Available within technical capability and deliverability specifications.
