About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a federal contract opportunity. The SOW outlines NASA's requirement for a temperature and strain measurement technology that reduces weight and space on Aerospace vehicles. The preferred solution is a distributive measurement system using fiber Bragg gratings (fs-FBGs) to increase sensor density and reduce weight of structural instrumentation.

The SOW specifies the characteristics of the required Sensuron RTS-125+ system, including an 8-channel ruggedized design, 13 m of sensing length per channel, software-selectable spatial resolution, up to 100 Hz acquisition rate, and the ability to support up to 16,384 sensors. The period of performance is 16 weeks from purchase. This SOW is associated with a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a Fiber Optic Sensing System (FOSS) for an Eco-Demonstrator, issued by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Shared Services Center.
