About this file
This statement of work describes requirements for a custom liquid nitrogen cooled shroud. The shroud must have a cylindrical shape with internal dimensions of 20 inches in diameter and 23.5 inches tall. It must be constructed of D-tube aluminum sheet with a large, hinged access door on the right side. The interior surfaces must be coated with black high emittance paint. A cryogenic feedthrough with a 2.75 conflat flange is required for liquid nitrogen supply and return piping. A pair of three-foot long flexlines with matching fittings must also be provided. The period of performance for manufacturing the shroud is 2023. The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from NASA seeking proposals for the thermal vacuum system shroud, cryogenic feedthrough, and flexlines by January 2023.
