STATEMENT OF WORK
Air Conditioner Replacement & Efficiency Modification National Key Deer Refuge Big Pine Key, FL
GENERAL
The objective of this project is to increase efficiency of the Refuge Bunkhouse air conditioning system and reduce the monthly power bill. The National Key Deer Refuge (Refuge) bunkhouse has an air conditioning system that inefficiently cools and is cost prohibitive to operate. The air conditioning system has been diagnosed as inefficient due to the system return utilizing 100% outside air with humidity levels up to 90% and temperatures upward to 100 degrees the summer months. There is also a concern that mold will develop without modifications. Therefore, the Refuge would like to modify two return ducts to reduce outside air intake as well as replace one condenser and air handler to improve the efficiency of the Refuge bunkhouse air conditioning system and reduce excessive power bills. Original HVAC drawings and specifications for the existing facility are attached.
