Statement of Work Peanut Aflatoxin Analysis

1.0 Scope of Work:

Analyze aflatoxin contamination in part per billion (ppb) in 400 samples of peanut.

2.0 Background:

For over 2 decades we have been conducting a breeding program to develop genotypes that are less susceptible to aflatoxin contamination when subjected to heat and drought stress conditions. We base our selections on ppb of aflatoxin contamination. In the past we have always conducted our own analysis using the immunoaffinity column extraction/fluormeter method. However, since lab occupancy is limited at the current time, we cannot perform these analyses.

3.0 Technical Requirements:

Extract and measure aflatoxin contamination (ppb) using the VIACM immunoaffinity column method. We need to use the same analysis method to remain compatible with results from previous years.

4.0 Government Furnished:

We have peanut pod harvests from 400 plots. We will shell and grind these samples and provide at least 100g from each plot.

5.0 Deliverables / Schedule:

Vendor will conduct analysis and provide ppb data for all samples no later than 6/1/22.

6.0 Travel: Not Applicable

7.0 Contractor’s Key Personnel: Not Applicable

8.0 Security Requirements: Not Applicable

9.0 Data Rights: All data will belong to the Federal Government

10.0 Section 508: Not Applicable
