About this file
This document outlines requirements for a conduit run for gates project. The United States Geological Survey Office of Acquisitions and Grants is soliciting bids under solicitation number 140G0324Q0093 to install conduit for gates. Bids are due by the date specified in the solicitation. Interested vendors should review the attached Statement of Work for details on the scope of work, specifications, delivery schedule and other requirements to provide and install conduit runs to connect newly installed security gates. The project aims to enhance security infrastructure through buried conduit that will carry low voltage cabling for gate automation and access control.

PERFORMANCE-BASED WORK STATEMENT:
Install Conduit Pathways into Building #1 and Building #4, then pull access control wires from 3 Man-Gates back to Respective Communication Rooms
I. GENERAL
The US Geological Survey needs to install an approximate 35-foot buried 2”conduit pathway from Man Gate #1 into Building #1, an approximate 23 foot 2” conduit pathway into Building #4, and pull access control wires from 3 existing Man-Gates back to the respective communication rooms for integration into existing Lenel Onguard 8.2 PIV access control system.
1. BACKGROUND.
The Idaho Water Science Center recently migrated to a new PIV physical access control system to become HSPD-12 and Interagency Security Committee (ISC) standard compliant for federal facilities. We are now migrating our 3 stand-alone outdoor man-gates into the Lenel Onguard
8.2 PIV system for security and monitoring. To do this, 35 feet of new buried conduit must be run from Man-Gate #1, into the first floor of Building #1. Two wire pulls from Man-Gate#1 and #2 are required through the new conduit back through the existing first-floor cable trays into the first floor Communications Room then vertically into the second floor Communications Room for termination (see attached photos). An additional 23 foot conduit run and access control wire pull from Man-Gate #4 into Building #4’s Communications Room is required (see detailed instructions below).
2. WORK TO BE PERFORMED BY CONTRACTOR.
Install new 2-inch conduit pathway from Man-Gate #1 into Building #1 and pull provided access control wires from Man-Gate#1 and #2 into the second-floor Communication Room (BOR side).
a. Man-Gate#1- Install approximately 30 feet of 2” rigid conduit from Man-Gate #1, into the first floor of Building #1. The 30-foot stretch will be buried to code from the man-gate over to Building #1, then brought up vertically approximately 4 feet onto Building #1’s outer wall. It will penetrate the outer wall into the first floor. The penetration will not breech the interior wall; it will be pulled vertically inside the wall to the existing cable trays above the ceiling tiles. NOTE: A larger junction box may be needed at man-gate #1 to join both gate wires through (existing box is single gang mounted low).
b. Man-Gate#1- Pull government provided access control wire bundle (4461111WBT .475 OD) and single reader wire (416400WBT .190 OD) from man-gate#1 approximately 153 feet using existing conduit and the new conduit/junction box into Building #1. Once inside of Building #1, the cables will continue vertically inside of the wall and join the existing cable trays above the ceiling tiles on the first floor. The wires will continue through the first-floor cable trays back to the first-floor communications room. From there, the wires will continue vertically into the second the second-floor communications room for termination. A five-foot service loop of wire is required at the Lenel access panel (see all attached photos).
c. Man-Gate#2- Pull government provided access control wire bundle (4461111WBT
.475 OD) and single reader wire (416400WBT .190 OD) from man-gate#2 approximately 316 feet using existing conduit and the new conduit/junction box into Building #1. A five-foot service loop of wire is required at the Lenel access panel (see all attached photos).
d. NOTE: (USGS Facilities will terminate and wire all access control devices)
Install new 2-inch conduit pathway from Man-Gate #4 into Building #4, and pull provided access control wires from Man-Gate#4 into Building #4’s Communication Room
a. Man-Gate#4- Install approximately 23 feet of 2” rigid conduit from Man-Gate #4, into Building #4. The first horizontal run will be 13 feet along the foundation of Building#4, then brought up vertically approximately 10 feet onto Building #4’s outer wall. It will penetrate the outer wall into Building #4 approximately 18 inches from the glass portion of the adjacent window. The penetration point is next to the existing cable tray above the ceiling tiles.
b. Man-Gate#4- Pull government provided access control wire bundle (4461111WBT .475 OD) and single reader wire (416400WBT .190 OD) from Man-Gate#4 approximately 153 feet using new conduit, and existing cable trays into Building #4’s communication room. A five-foot service loop is required at the Lenel access panel (see attached photos).
c. NOTE: (USGS Facilities will terminate and wire all access control devices)
