STATEMENT OF WORK
1. OVERVIEW —
1.1 Government Agency Department and Address:
Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital 200 Springs Road Bedford, MA 01730
1.2 Project Data:
Project Title: Bldg. #78 Comp & Pen Roof Top Unit Replacement Project Number: # 518-23-321 REQUESTOR: Robert McCusker Vendor: TBD
A. OBJECTIVE:
The objective of this project is to:
• Provide a replacement for the existing Bldg. #78 Comp and Pen Roof Mounted Heating and Cooling Unit & Exhaust Fan
• Area being served by unit is smaller than original design. Resize for new unit based on
• Remove old Roof Mounted Heating and Cooling Unit & exhaust fan and discard
• Provide new resized Roof Mounted Heating and Cooling Unit
• Provide needed piping changes for heating connections to existing piping
• Provide insulation for newly installed piping
• Insulation will consist of 2" fiberglass, covered with vinyl jacketing
• Deliver new Roof Mounted Heating and Cooling Unit to equipment pad and remove existing Unit
• Contractor to confirm existing electrical, piping, and control connections.
• Contractor responsible for all electrical, mechanical, and pipe connection to existing pipe
B. GENERAL SCOPE:
Vendor shall deliver and remove Roof Mounted Heating and Cooling Unit located at Edith N. Rogers Veterans Memorial Hospital, 200 Springs Road, Bedford, Massachusetts bldg. #78. Vendor to provide the following
Remove & Dispose existing Roof Mounted Heating and Cooling Unit.
Replace with resized unit for the needed cooling capacity, provide start up and training
C. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Use of common areas in order to deliver and remove existing chiller shall be coordinated with the COR for approval.
2. Vendor to provide products as specified with manufacturers named when noted. Pricing shall be based on specified item. Substitutions can be offered as a deduct alternate if it provides a cost savings. Vendor must obtain written approval for substitution.
3. The Medical Center is a 24/7 facility with multiple end users. The Vendor is required to work directly with the COR. Any changes in the schedule or coordination required with the end user shall be facilitated by the COR.
D. Detailed Requirements:
Bldg. #78 Comp & Pen Roof Mounted Heating and Cooling Unit
• Provide a replacement for the existing #78 Comp & Pen Roof Mounted Heating and Cooling Unit
• Reclaim Refrigerant from chiller.
• Disconnect piping
• Disconnect Electrical
• Remove old chiller & exhaust fan and discard
• Provide new resized Roof Mounted Heating and Cooling Unit &
Exhaust fan
• Install new electrical feed from the existing disconnect, to chiller & fan and tie in power.
• Provide needed piping changes for connections to existing piping
• Provide insulation for newly installed piping
• Insulation will consist of 2" fiberglass, covered with vinyl jacketing
• Contractor to confirm existing electrical, piping, and control connections.
• Contractor to supply any material or devices to interface with existing systems (i.e. pipe connections, ducting connections, control interface, or electrical interphase)
• Provide factory Start-up.
Schedule Completion 270 days after award
