About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of a body plethysmograph system for the Harry S Truman VA Medical Center's Multi-Specialty CBOC in Rolla. The acquisition is based on the Platinum Elite DX Body Plethysmograph with RTD by MGC Diagnostics but allows for brand-name-or-equal submissions; contractors must provide sufficient documentation demonstrating that proposed products meet the salient physical, functional, and performance characteristics outlined in the SOW.

The technical specifications require a commercially available, non-developmental cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing system suitable for hospital, clinic, or pulmonary laboratory environments that supports both adult and pediatric patient populations. The system must be modular and capable of supporting multiple pulmonary diagnostic tests including spirometry, diffusion capacity (DLCO) testing, lung volumes testing, cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET), and metabolic gas analysis with breath-by-breath measurements. Critical specifications include a body plethysmography chamber with 726 L internal volume (aluminum/acrylic construction), bidirectional Pitot tube flow sensor with ±18 L/s range and ±2% or 50 mL accuracy, galvanic O2 analysis (0-100%), and RTD multigas technology for diffusion analysis with <1 second analysis time. The system must include FDA-cleared diagnostic software, real-time graphical displays, ECG/blood pressure/pulse oximetry integration, EMR connectivity, network integration, and comply with ATS/ERS standards. Power requirements are 100-240 V/50-60 Hz. The contractor is responsible for white-glove installation with performance verification coordinated with VA Activations, hands-on training to be completed within 45 days after final installation with recorded training materials provided to the VA, and a manufacturer's two-year free replacement warranty covering normal wear and tear with free return shipping from date of delivery.
