(GOV) and farm equipment. BARC also monitors and maintains various hea ng oil, used oil and other petroleum based aboveground storage tanks (AST) and underground storage tanks (UST). The degraded fuel pump condi on has directly contributed to the pumps being non-opera onal or experiencing slow pumping ac on resul ng in both inefficient pumping and overspill. Degraded fuel pump opera ons have led to inefficiencies across the BARC campus for all users of GOVs and USDA operated equipment. The degraded, and non-opera onal pumps also contribute to spill hazards, presen ng an environmental threat at the fuel sta ons as well as surrounding farmland

SWD-3

and research facili es. Various AST/USTs at BARC are also in need to repair in order to remain in compliance with federal, state, and local authori es for the BARC Oil

Opera ng Permit (OOP).

3.3 Purpose
