STATEMENT OF WORK

CONSTRUCTION OF AWNING FOR BLDG. 262

COLUMBUS AFB, MISSISSIPPI

04 FEBRUARY 2020

This Statement of Work (S.O.W.) defines the scope of work to accomplish the construction of an awning for the compressor/breathing air addition on the backside of building 262. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, management, supervision, coordination and transportation required to accomplish this work.

1.1 WORK SCHEDULE, PLANS AND WORKING HOURS: Work days for this contract will be Monday through Sunday between the hours of 1800 and 0500 or

2300 and 0500 (6:00 PM and 5:00 AM/11:00 PM and 5:00 AM). These hours will be highly dependent on the weekly aircraft maintenance schedule and will require coordination with Civil Engineering. Building personnel will be present during the hours of work. The contractor will need to coordinate with the government to verify safe working conditions. The contractor shall not begin any work until he or she has coordinated an approved work plan with the government. Written permission from

Contracting Squadron and the COR shall be obtained for any deviation from the approved schedule.

1.2 AVAILABILITY OF UTILITY SERVICES: All reasonable quantities of utilities will be made available to the contractor. The government shall not be held responsible for interruptions of utility services, and will not be liable for contractor delays, damages, or increased cost incurred by any such interruption of service. The contractor shall be responsible for providing all labor, equipment, and materials to make necessary temporary utility connections. The temporary connections shall be coordinated with the Government Representative before being made and shall be removed upon project completion.

1.3 CLEAN-UP: All debris and rubbish not specified to become government property resulting from construction work will be disposed of by the contractor off government property. Disposal will be in compliance with federal, state, and local hauling and disposal regulations. Site clean-up shall be daily. The contractor will be extremely cautious arriving and departing the job site. No debris will be allowed to accumulate on site at any time. Cleanup shall be continuous as to prevent foreign object debris

(FOD). All taxiways and aprons shall be kept clear of FOD at all times.

1.4 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: Safety requirement shall be the applicable sections of

EM 385-1-1, Oct 1992 and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

Regulations. OSHA regulations are available for review at the Base Safety Office, Building 724. EM 385-1-1 is available for reference in the Maintenance Engineering

Office, Building 385. The contractor shall ensure that any lifting devices or ladders meet any and all applicable safety standards. It is the responsibility of the primary contractor to ensure all sub-contractors comply with the requirements of 29

CFR1910.146 and 29 CFR 1926.21. Prior to entry into any confined space, the contractor, and if applicable, sub-contractor, will coordinate any entry with CE prior to actual entry. Contractor is responsible for obtaining flight line driver training for all drivers from Base Operations before construction.

1.5 SITE CONDITIONS: The contractor acknowledges satisfaction as to the nature and location of the work, the general and local conditions, access to job site; disposal, handling and storage of materials; availability of water, electric power or similar physical conditions at CAFB; the character of equipment and facilities needed preliminary to and during the performance of the work; and all other matters that can in any way affect the work or the cost thereof under this contract. The contractor acknowledges that any damage to the existing facility will be returned to its original condition prior to the completion of subject work at no additional cost to the government.

1.6 WARRANTY: A one-year warranty on materials and labor for this project is required to assure good quality workmanship and materials and to provide necessary maintenance and correction of deficiencies during the year following contract completion. The contractor will provide any commercial warranty on materials or equipment included in the construction that exceeds this one-year, all-inclusive warranty. The commercial warranty will be issued to the government.

TECHNICAL – PART II

2.1 Remove existing guttering and add proper flashing to receive new aluminum canopy.

2.2 Fabricate and install new single skin flat-pan canopy roof system to project 11feet with built in gutter/beam supported with beam and (2 each) 3 inch columns set onto slab with downspout for drainage.

2.3 Enclose canopy on 2 sides with structural panels.

2.4 Guttering and posts should be bronze color with ivory pans to match existing infrastructure.
