DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS/SCOPE OF WORK 000001-2
1.1 SCOPE OF CONTRACT
A. This project includes installation of two new aluminum storefront doors and frames for the front entrance into the Tonopah Ranger District Office in Tonopah, NV. This work will include selective demolition of the existing double doors and hardware. Work includes the proper disposal of noted items. The existing outer door frame is approximately 72” wide, 83 5/8” tall and 4” thick. It includes two 36” wide by 82” tall doors. The existing inner door frame is approximately 75 3/4” wide, 85 1/2” tall and 4” thick. It includes two 36” wide by 82” tall doors. The exact dimensions shall be verified by the contractor prior to install. Both the outer and inner double doors shall be replaced with ABA compliant, 40” wide single doors with full height sidelights.
Storefront style frame and door shall be used and full sealed. It shall include a closer, panic bar on the inside and lever handle with pin pad and key access on the exterior. Door shall have full height glass. All glass shall be double pained and Low E coating. An eForce 150 Keyless Entry (Model 3090) electronic keypad or approved equal shall be installed on the outside entry door.
If option item is exercised, contractor shall provide and install a new accessible door opener and push button on the outside wall complete with electrical wiring. The contractor shall provide a wiring plan for approval.
B. Contractor will be a qualified installer for storefront doors. Doors will meet NFRC energy performance values, including a Thermal Transmittance of not more than 0.68 Btu/sq. ft.
x h x deg F, a Solar Heat-Gain Coefficient of not more than 0.40, and Air Leakage of not more than 1.0 cfm/sq. ft. at a static-air-pressure differential of 1.57 lbf/sq. ft. Doors will come with a 2-year warranty for the frame, 5-year warranty for anodized finishes, 3-year warranty for hardware, and 10-year warranty for windows.
1.2 PROJECT LOCATION
A. The project is located at the Tonopah Ranger District Office of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, Nye County, Nevada. It is located at 1501 South Main Street, Tonopah, Nevada 89049. The office is located just to the South of town off US Hwy 95.
1.3 SITE INFORMATION AND LIMITATIONS
A. The following site conditions are considered incidental to the contract and the contractor will not be paid directly for any of the following items:
1. Construction sites will be closed to the public during construction. The building will remain occupied for the duration of the project. The Contractor will be responsible for signing and safety of the occupants.
2. Exterior door replacement needs to occur in one day to maintain after-hour security for the district office.
3. Utilities are available at the site for construction purposes.
4. Toilet facilities are available at the site.
5. The contractor shall have partial use of the premises for construction operations, including partial use of the project site during the construction period. The

Contractor’s use of the premises is limited by the Government’s right to perform work. Dust protection and protection of employees is required.
6. The work shall be completed as directed and scheduled by the Contracting Officer’s Representative, to try to minimize impact to the operations and public access to the Ranger District Office. The Contractor will be responsible for fencing, signing and limiting access.
7. Work hours allowed shall be Monday-Friday 7AM-7PM. The contractor may work weekends if needed with prior notice, 8AM-7PM.
1.4 TRAFFIC CONTROL AND CONSTRUCTION SIGNING
A. No work that endangers, interferes, or conflicts with traffic or access to building shall be performed until a plan for satisfactory warning and handling of traffic has been submitted by the contractor and approved by the COR.
1.5 WORK CAMPS, STAGING AND STORAGE AREAS
A. Areas for staging operations and storage of materials shall be approved by the CO. The Contractor must request in writing for approval from the CO to stage work trailers on site.
B. No overnight camping will be allowed on site.
1.6 INSPECTION OF WORKSITE
A. The contractor acknowledges they have taken the necessary steps to ascertain the nature and location of work, and have investigated and satisfied themselves as to the general and local conditions that can affect the work or its cost. Any failure of the contractor to take the actions described and acknowledged in this paragraph will not relieve the Contractor from the responsibility of estimating properly the difficulty and cost of successfully performing the work, or for proceeding to successfully perform the work without additional expenses to the government.

1.9 INSPECTION OF WORKSITE
A. The contractor will acknowledge that they have taken the necessary steps to ascertain the nature and location of the work and have investigated and satisfied themselves as to the general and local conditions that can affect the work and it’s cost. Any failure of the contractor to take actions described in this paragraph will not relieve the Contractor from responsibility of properly estimating the difficulty and cost of successful performance of the work or for proceeding without additional expense to the Government.

SECTION 011250 - MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. Measurement and payment for contract work will be made only for and under those pay items included in the Schedule of Items. All other work, labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to successfully complete the project will be considered as included in the payment for items shown. This section defines the method of measurements and basis of payment for work items listed in the Schedule of Items.
B. When more than one class, size, type, thickness, etc. is specified in the Schedule of Items for any pay item, suffixes will be added to the item number to differentiate between the pay items.
1.2 UNITS OF MEASUREMENT
A. Payment shall be by units defined and determined according to U.S. Standard measure and by the following:
1. Each (EA): One complete unit, which may consist of one or more parts.
2. Lump Sum (LS): One complete unit.
1.3 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT
A. One of the following methods of measurement for determining final payment is designated on the Schedule of Items for each pay item:
1. ACTUAL QUANTITIES (AQ) - These quantities are determined from actual measurements of completed work.
2. LUMP SUM QUANTITIES (LSQ) - These quantities denote one complete unit of work as required by or described in the contract, including necessary materials, equipment, and labor to complete the job. They shall not be measured.

SECTION 013300 - SUBMITTAL PROCEDURES
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. This Section includes administrative and procedural requirements for submitting Shop Drawings, Product Data, Samples, and other miscellaneous submittals. See Table 013300-1 for a summary of required submittals.
B. See other specification section within this package for additional requirements on submittal.
1.2 SUBMITTAL PROCEDURES
A. Coordination: Coordinate preparation and processing of submittals with performance of construction activities.
1. Coordinate transmittal of different types of submittals for related parts of the Work so processing will not be delayed because of need to review submittals concurrently for coordination.
a. The Contracting Officer (CO) reserves the right to withhold action on a submittal requiring coordination with other submittals until related submittals are received.
B. Processing Time: Allow enough time for submittal review, including time for re-submittals, as follows. Time for review shall commence on CO's receipt of submittal.
1. Initial Review: Allow 14 days for initial review of each submittal. Allow additional time if processing must be delayed to permit coordination with subsequent submittals. CO will advise Contractor when a submittal being processed must be delayed for coordination.
2. If intermediate submittal is necessary, process it in same manner as initial submittal.
3. Allow 14 days for processing each re-submittal.
4. No extension of the Contract Time will be authorized because of failure to transmit submittals enough in advance of the Work to permit processing.
C. Identification: Place a permanent label or title block on each submittal for identification.
1. Indicate name of firm or entity that prepared each submittal on label or title block.
2. Provide a space on label or beside title block to record Contractor's review and approval markings and action taken by CO.
3. Include the following information on label for processing and recording action taken:
a. Project name.
b. Date.

c. Name and address of Contractor.
d. Name of manufacturer.
e. Unique identifier, including revision number.
f. Number and title of appropriate Specification Section.
g. Drawing number and detail references, as appropriate.
h. If more than one item is shown on submittal sheet, identify item.
D. Deviations: Highlight, encircle, or otherwise identify deviations from the Contract Documents on submittals.
E. Additional Copies: Unless additional copies are required for final submittal, and unless CO observes noncompliance with provisions of the Contract Documents, initial submittal may serve as final submittal.
F. Use for Construction: Use only final submittals with mark indicating action taken by CO in connection with construction.
1.3 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
A. No separate measurement and/or payment will be made for this section. Payment shall be included with work shown in the schedule of items.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 ACTION SUBMITTALS – (Submittals requiring CO approval)
A. General: Prepare and submit Action Submittals required by individual Specification Sections.
1. Number of Copies: Submit three copies of each submittal, unless otherwise indicated. CO will return two copies. Mark up and retain one returned copy as a Project Record Document.
B. Product Data: Collect information into a single submittal for each element of construction and type of product or equipment.
1. Mark each copy of each submittal to show which products and options are applicable.
2. Include the following information, as applicable:
a. Manufacturer's written recommendations.
b. Manufacturer's product specifications.
c. Manufacturer's installation instructions.
d. Manufacturer's catalog cuts.
e. Wiring diagrams showing factory-installed wiring.
f. Compliance with recognized trade association standards.
g. Compliance with recognized testing agency standards.

C. Shop Drawings: Prepare Project-specific information, drawn accurately to scale. Do not base Shop Drawings on reproductions of the Contract Documents or standard printed data.
1. Preparation: Include the following information, as applicable:
a. Dimensions.
b. Identification of products.
c. Fabrication and installation drawings.
d. Roughing-in and setting diagrams.
e. Wiring diagrams showing field-installed wiring, including power, signal, and control wiring.
f. Notation of dimensions established by field measurement.
2. Wiring Diagrams: Differentiate between manufacturer-installed and field-installed wiring.
D. Contractor's Construction Schedule: The contractor shall submit a Construction Schedule, for approval by CO, in accordance with the contract provisions within 5 day of commencement of work.
E. Samples: Prepare physical units of materials or products, including the following:
1. Samples for Initial Selection: Submit manufacturer's color charts consisting of units or sections of units showing the full range of colors, textures, and patterns available.
2.2 INFORMATIONAL SUBMITTALS – (Submittals NOT requiring CO approval)
A. General: Prepare and submit Informational Submittals required by other Specification Sections.
1. Number of Copies: Submit three copies of each submittal, unless otherwise indicated. CO will not return copies.
2. Certificates and Certifications: Certificates and certifications shall be signed by an officer or other individual authorized to sign documents on behalf of that entity.
3. Test and Inspection Reports: Comply with requirements in Section 014100 "Quality Control."
B. Material Test Reports: Prepare reports written by a qualified testing agency, on testing agency's standard form, indicating and interpreting test results of material for compliance with requirements.
C. Maintenance Data: Prepare written and graphic instructions and procedures for operation and normal maintenance of products and equipment.
D. Manufacturer's Instructions: Prepare written or published information that documents manufacturer's recommendations, guidelines, and procedures for installing or operating a product or equipment. Include name of product and name, address, and telephone number of manufacturer.

PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 GENERAL
A. Review each submittal and check for compliance with the Contract Documents. Note corrections and field dimensions. Mark with approval stamp before submitting to CO.
B. Approval Stamp: Stamp each submittal with a uniform, approval stamp. Include Project name and location, submittal number, Specification Section title and number, name of reviewer, date of Contractor's approval, and statement certifying that submittal has been reviewed, checked, and approved for compliance with the Contract Documents.
C. CO will not review submittals that do not bear Contractor's approval stamp and will return them without action.
D. Submittals not required by the Contract Documents will not be reviewed and may be discarded.
E. Substitutions – Whenever materials, products, and equipment are listed by name or brand in the specifications, it is used as a measure of quality, utility, or standard. If the Contractor prefers to use any other brand or manufacturer of same quality, appearance and utility to that specified, he shall request substitution as provided below, not less than 30 days before the planned installation of the item. The Contracting Officer will approve or disapprove the request for substitution.
F. Requests for substitutions will only be considered if contractor submits the following:
1. Complete technical data including drawings, complete performance specifications, test data, samples and performance tests of the article proposed for substitution.
Submit additional information if required by Contracting Officer. All items in the above information shall be circled, tagged, or marked in some way to indicate all deviations or differences which the proposed item differs from the originally specified item.
2. Similar data as above for item originally specified. All items shall be marked to identify where/how the proposed substitution will differ.
3. A statement by the Contractor that the proposed substitution is in full compliance with the contract documents, applicable codes, and laws.
4. The Contractor shall be responsible for any effect upon related work in the project for any substitution and shall pay any additional costs generated by any substitutions.
3.2 SUBMITTAL SCHEDULE – Submittals shall be made as required by and called for in the specifications. The following table is a summary of the required submittals for the project - the table is to assist the Contractor and may not be all inclusive – additional submittals may be required by specific specifications:

SECTION 017320 - SELECTIVE DEMOLITION
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. This Section includes demolition and removal of the following:
1. Selected portions of a building.
2. Repair procedures for selective demolition operations.
1.2 DEFINITIONS
A. Remove: Detach items from existing construction and legally dispose of them off-site, unless indicated to be removed and salvaged or removed and reinstalled.
B. Existing to Remain: Existing items of construction that are not to be removed and that are not otherwise indicated to be removed, removed and salvaged, or removed and reinstalled.
1.3 MATERIALS OWNERSHIP
A. Except for items or materials indicated to be reused, salvaged, reinstalled, or otherwise indicated to remain Government property, demolished materials shall become Contractor's property and shall be removed from Project site.
1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Regulatory Requirements: Comply with governing EPA notification regulations before beginning selective demolition. Comply with hauling and disposal regulations of authorities having jurisdiction.
B. Standards: Comply with ANSI A10.6 and NFPA 241.
1.5 PROJECT CONDITIONS
A. Conduct selective demolition so Government operations will not be disrupted. Provide not less than 72 hours' notice to CO of activities that will affect Government operations.
B. Maintain access to existing building amenities, pathways, and other adjacent occupied or used facilities.
1. Do not close or obstruct walkways, corridors, or other occupied or used facilities without written permission from the COR.
C. Storage or sale of removed items or materials on-site will not be permitted.

1.6 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
A. There will be no separate measurement or payment for work in this section. Payment will be included at the contract unit price for items shown on the Schedule of Items.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 REPAIR MATERIALS
A. Use repair materials identical to existing materials.
1. If identical materials are unavailable or cannot be used for exposed surfaces, use materials that visually match existing adjacent surfaces to the fullest extent possible.
2. Use materials whose installed performance equal or surpasses that of existing materials.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Verify that utilities have been disconnected and capped.
B. Survey existing conditions and correlate with requirements indicated to determine extent of selective demolition required.
C. When unanticipated mechanical, electrical, or structural elements that conflict with intended function or design are encountered, investigate and measure the nature and extent of conflict. Promptly submit a written report to CO.
3.2 PREPARATION
A. Site Access and Temporary Controls: Conduct selective demolition and debris-removal operations to ensure minimum interference with walkways and other adjacent occupied and used facilities.
B. Temporary Enclosures: Provide temporary enclosures for protection of existing building and construction, in progress and completed, from exposure, foul weather, other construction operations, and similar activities. Provide temporary weathertight enclosure for building exterior.
3.3 POLLUTION CONTROLS
A. Dust Control: Use temporary enclosures, and other suitable methods to limit spread of dust and dirt. Comply with governing environmental-protection regulations.
B. Cleaning: Clean adjacent structures and improvements of dust, dirt, and debris caused by selective demolition operations. Return adjacent areas to condition existing before selective demolition operations began.

3.4 SELECTIVE DEMOLITION
A. General: Demolish and remove existing construction only to the extent required by new construction and as indicated. Use methods required to complete the Work within limitations of governing regulations.
1. Neatly cut openings and holes plumb, square, and true to dimensions required. Use cutting methods least likely to damage construction to remain or adjoining construction.
2. Cut or drill from the exposed or finished side into concealed surfaces to avoid marring existing finished surfaces.
3.5 PATCHING AND REPAIRS
A. General: Promptly repair damage to adjacent construction caused by selective demolition operations.
B. Repairs: Where repairs to existing surfaces are required, patch to produce surfaces suitable for new materials.
1. Completely fill holes and depressions in existing masonry walls that are to remain with an approved masonry patching material applied according to manufacturer's written recommendations.
C. Finishes: Restore exposed finishes of patched areas and extend restoration into adjoining construction in a manner that eliminates evidence of patching and refinishing.
D. Floors and Walls: Where walls or partitions that are demolished extend one finished area into another, patch and repair floor and wall surfaces in the new space. Provide an even surface of uniform finish color, texture, and appearance. Remove existing floor and wall coverings and replace with new materials, if necessary, to achieve uniform color and appearance.
E. Ceilings: Patch and repair existing ceilings as necessary to provide an even-plane surface of uniform appearance.
3.6 DISPOSAL OF DEMOLISHED MATERIALS
A. General: Promptly dispose of demolished materials. Do not allow demolished materials to accumulate on-site.
B. Burning: Do not burn demolished materials.
C. Disposal: Transport demolished materials off Government property and legally disposes of them.

CLOSEOUT PROCEDURE 017700-1
SECTION 017700 - CLOSEOUT PROCEDURE
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. Section includes administrative and procedural requirements for contract closeout, including, but not limited to, the following:
1. Substantial Completion Procedures.
2. Final Cleaning.
1.2 SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION PROCEDURES
A. Instruct COR in operation, adjustment, and maintenance of products and systems.
B. Complete final cleaning requirements, including touchup painting.
C. Touch up and otherwise repair and restore marred exposed finished to eliminate visual defects
D. Inspection: Submit a written request for final inspection to determine acceptance. On receipt of request, COR will either proceed with inspection or notify Contractor of unfulfilled requirements. COR will prepare a final Certificate for Payment after inspection or will notify Contractor of construction that must be completed or corrected before certificate will be issued.
1. Reinspection: Request reinspection when the Work identified in previous inspections as incomplete is completed or corrected.
1.3 FINAL CLEANING
A. Cleaning: Clean each surface or unit to condition expected in an average commercial building cleaning and maintenance program. Comply with manufacturer's written instructions.
1. Complete the following cleaning operations before requesting inspection for certification of Substantial Completion for entire Project or for a designated portion of Project:
a. Sweep paved areas broom clean.
b. Clean exposed exterior and interior hard-surfaced finishes to a dirt-free condition, free of stains, films, and similar foreign substances.
c. Vacuum carpet and similar soft surfaces, removing debris and excess nap
d. Leave Project clean and ready for occupancy.

SECTION 079200 - JOINT SEALANTS
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
A. Section Includes the following, where indicated or required:
1. Silicone joint sealants.

2. Division 09 Section "Gypsum Board" for sealing perimeter joints.
1.2 QUALITY ASSURANCE AND SUBMITTALS
A. Product Data: For each type of product.
B. Source Limitations: Obtain joint sealant from single source from single manufacturer.
1.3 PROJECT CONDITIONS
A. Do not proceed with installation of joint sealants under the following conditions:
1. When ambient and substrate temperature conditions are outside limits permitted by joint-sealant manufacturer or are below 40 deg F.
2. When joint substrates are wet.
3. Where joint widths are less than those allowed by joint-sealant manufacturer for applications indicated.
4. Where contaminants capable of interfering with adhesion have not yet been removed from joint substrates.
1.4 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
A. There will be no separate measurement or payment for work in this section. Payment will be included in the contract unit price for items shown in the schedule of items.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 MATERIALS, GENERAL
A. Compatibility: Provide joint sealants, backings, and other related materials that are compatible with one another and with joint substrates under conditions of service and application, as demonstrated by joint-sealant manufacturer, based on testing and field experience.

B. Stain-Test-Response Characteristics: Where sealants are specified to be non-staining to porous substrates, provide products that have undergone testing according to ASTM C 1248 and have not stained porous joint substrates indicated for Project.
C. Colors of Exposed Joint Sealants: As selected by Contracting Officer from manufacturer's full range.
2.2 ELASTOMERIC JOINT SEALANTS
A. Stain-Test-Response Characteristics: Where elastomeric sealants are specified in the Elastomeric Joint-Sealant Schedule to be non-staining to porous substrates, provide products that have undergone testing according to ASTM C 1248 and have not stained porous joint substrates indicated for Project.
B. Available Products: Subject to compliance with requirements, joint sealant schedule, and manufacturer's recommendations, provide one of the products specified in each category below where needed:
1. Elastomeric Joint Sealant Designation: ES4
a. Base Polymer: Acid-curing silicone.
b. Type: S (single component).
c. Grade: NS (non-sag).

2.3 JOINT SEALANT BACKING
A. General: Provide sealant backings of material that are nonstaining; are compatible with joint substrates, sealants, primers, and other joint fillers; and are approved for applications indicated by sealant manufacturer based on field experience and laboratory testing.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Examine joints indicated to receive joint sealants, with Installer present, for compliance with requirements for joint configuration, installation tolerances, and other conditions affecting joint-sealant performance.
B. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
3.2 PREPARATION
JOINT SEALANTS 079200-3
A. Surface Cleaning of Joints: Clean out joints immediately before installing joint sealants to comply with joint-sealant manufacturer's written instructions and the following requirements:
1. Clean porous joint substrate surfaces by brushing, grinding, mechanical abrading, or a combination of these methods to produce a clean, sound substrate capable of developing optimum bond with joint sealants. Remove loose particles remaining after cleaning operations above by vacuuming or blowing out joints with oil-free compressed air. Porous joint substrates include the following:
a. Concrete.
b. Masonry.
c. Unglazed surfaces of ceramic tile.
d. Exterior insulation and finish systems.
2. Remove laitance and form-release agents from concrete.
3. Clean nonporous joint substrate surfaces with chemical cleaners or other means that do not stain, harm substrates, or leave residues capable of interfering with adhesion of joint sealants. Nonporous joint substrates include the following:
a. Metal.
b. Glass.
c. Porcelain enamel.
d. Glazed surfaces of ceramic tile.
B. Masking Tape: Use masking tape where required to prevent contact of sealant or primer with adjoining surfaces that otherwise would be permanently stained or damaged by such contact or by cleaning methods required to remove sealant smears. Remove tape immediately after tooling without disturbing joint seal.
3.3 INSTALLATION OF JOINT SEALANTS
A. General: Comply with joint-sealant manufacturer's written installation instructions for products and applications indicated, unless more stringent requirements apply.
B. Sealant Installation Standard: Comply with recommendations in ASTM C 1193 for use of joint sealants as applicable to materials, applications, and conditions indicated.
C. Install sealant backings of kind indicated to support sealants during application and at position required to produce cross-sectional shapes and depths of installed sealants relative to joint widths that allow optimum sealant movement capability.
1. Do not leave gaps between ends of sealant backings.
2. Do not stretch, twist, puncture, or tear sealant backings.
3. Remove absorbent sealant backings that have become wet before sealant application and replace them with dry materials.
D. Install bond-breaker tape behind sealants where sealant backings are not used between sealants and backs of joints.
E. Install sealants using proven techniques that comply with the following and at the same time backings are installed:

1. Place sealants so they directly contact and fully wet joint substrates.
2. Completely fill recesses in each joint configuration.
3. Produce uniform, cross-sectional shapes and depths relative to joint widths that allow optimum sealant movement capability.
F. Tooling of Non-sag Sealants: Immediately after sealant application and before skinning or curing begins, tool sealants according to requirements specified in subparagraphs below to form smooth, uniform beads of configuration indicated; to eliminate air pockets;
and to ensure contact and adhesion of sealant with sides of joint.
1. Remove excess sealant from surfaces adjacent to joints.
2. Use tooling agents that are approved in writing by sealant manufacturer and that do not discolor sealants or adjacent surfaces.
a. Use masking tape to protect surfaces adjacent to recessed tooled joints.
3.4 PROTECTION
A. Protect joint sealants during and after curing period from contact with contaminating substances and from damage resulting from construction operations or other causes so sealants are without deterioration or damage at time of Substantial Completion. If, despite such protection, damage or deterioration occurs, cut out and remove damaged or deteriorated joint sealants immediately so installations with repaired areas are indistinguishable from original work.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
A. General Performance: Comply with performance requirements specified, as determined by testing of aluminum-framed entrances and storefronts representing those indicated for this Project without failure due to defective manufacture, fabrication, installation, or other defects in construction.
1. Aluminum-framed entrances and storefronts shall withstand movements of supporting structure, including, but not limited to, twist, column shortening, long-term creep, and deflection from uniformly distributed and concentrated live loads.
2. Failure also includes the following:
a. Thermal stresses transferring to building structure.
b. Glass breakage.
c. Noise or vibration created by wind and thermal and structural movements.
d. Loosening or weakening of fasteners, attachments, and other components.
e. Failure of operating units.
B. Energy Performance: Certified and labeled by manufacturer for energy performance as follows:
1. Thermal Transmittance (U-factor):
a. Fixed glazing and framing areas shall have U-factor of not more than 0.68 Btu/sq. ft. x h x deg F as determined according to NFRC 100.
2. Solar Heat-Gain Coefficient (SHGC):
a. Fixed glazing and framing areas shall have a SHGC of not more than 0.40 as determined according to NFRC 200.
3. Air Leakage:
a. Fixed glazing and framing areas shall have air leakage of not more than 1.0 cfm/sq. ft. at a static-air-pressure differential of 1.57 lbf/sq. ft.
C. Thermal Movements: Allow for thermal movements resulting from ambient and surface temperature changes.
1. Temperature Change: 120 deg F , ambient; 180 deg F , material surfaces.

2.5 ENTRANCE DOOR HARDWARE

B. General: Provide entrance door hardware and entrance door hardware sets indicated in door and frame schedule for each entrance door, to comply with requirements in this Section.

2.8 FABRICATION
A. Form or extrude aluminum shapes before finishing.

2. Accurately fitted joints with ends coped or mitered.
3. Physical and thermal isolation of glazing from framing members.
4. Accommodations for thermal and mechanical movements of glazing and framing to maintain required glazing edge clearances.
5. Provisions for field replacement of glazing from interior.
6. Fasteners, anchors, and connection devices that are concealed from view to greatest extent possible.
C. Mechanically Glazed Framing Members: Fabricate for flush glazing without projecting stops.
D. Entrance Door Frames: Reinforce as required to support loads imposed by door operation and for installing entrance door hardware.
E. Entrance Doors: Reinforce doors as required for installing entrance door hardware.
F. Entrance Door Hardware Installation: Factory install entrance door hardware to the greatest extent possible. Cut, drill, and tap for factory-installed entrance door hardware before applying finishes.
G. After fabrication, clearly mark components to identify their locations in Project according to Shop Drawings.
2.9 ALUMINUM FINISHES

A. Color Anodic Finish: AAMA 611, AA-M12C22A32/A34, Class II, 0.010 mm or thicker.
3.1 INSTALLATION, GENERAL
A. Comply with manufacturer's written instructions.
B. Fit joints to produce hairline joints free of burrs and distortion.
C. Rigidly secure nonmovement joints.
D. Install anchors with separators and isolators to prevent metal corrosion and electrolytic deterioration and to prevent impeding movement of moving joints.
E. Seal perimeter and other joints watertight unless otherwise indicated.
F. Metal Protection:
1. Where aluminum is in contact with dissimilar metals, protect against galvanic action by painting contact surfaces with materials recommended by manufacturer for this purpose or by installing nonconductive spacers.
2. Where aluminum is in contact with concrete or masonry, protect against corrosion by painting contact surfaces with bituminous paint.
G. Set continuous sill members and flashing in full sealant bed, as specified in Section 079200 "Joint Sealants," to produce weathertight installation.
H. Install joint filler behind sealant as recommended by sealant manufacturer.
I. Install operable units level and plumb, true in alignment, securely anchored, and without distortion. Adjust weather-stripping contact and hardware movement to produce proper operation.
3.2 INSTALLATION OF GLAZING
A. Install glazing as specified in Section 088000 "Glazing."
3.3 INSTALLATION OF ALUMINUM-FRAMED ENTRANCE DOORS
A. Install entrance doors to produce smooth operation and tight fit at contact points.
1. Exterior Doors: Install to produce weathertight enclosure and tight fit at weather stripping.

PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY:
A. Section includes:

1.2 ACTION SUBMITTALS
A. Product Data: For push button Combination lock (as described in 2.6), accessible door opener (as described in 2.17)
B. Other Action Submittals:
1. Door Hardware Schedule: Prepared by or under the supervision of Installer, detailing fabrication and assembly of door hardware, as well as installation procedures and diagrams. Coordinate final door hardware schedule with doors, frames, and related work to ensure proper size, thickness, hand, function, and finish of door hardware.
a. Format: Use same scheduling sequence and format and use same door numbers as in the Contract Documents.
b. Content: Include the following information:
1) Identification number, location, hand, fire rating, size, and material of each door and frame.
2) Locations of each door hardware set, cross-referenced to Drawings on floor plans and to door and frame schedule.
3) Complete designations, including name and manufacturer, type, style, function, size, quantity, function, and finish of each door hardware product.
4) Description of electrified door hardware sequences of operation and interfaces with other building control systems.
2. Keying Schedule: Prepared by or under the supervision of Installer, detailing Owner's final keying instructions for locks.
1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Installer Qualifications: Supplier of products and an employer of workers trained and approved by product manufacturers and an Architectural Hardware Consultant who is

available during the course of the Work to consult with Contractor, Architect, and Owner about door hardware and keying.
B. Electrified Door Hardware: Listed and labeled as defined in NFPA 70, Article 100, by a testing agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction.
C. Means of Egress Doors: Latches do not require more than 15 lbf (67 N) to release the latch. Locks do not require use of a key, tool, or special knowledge for operation.
D. Accessibility Requirements: Comply with applicable provisions in the ABA Standards of the Federal agency having jurisdiction and ICC A117.1 for door hardware on doors in an accessible route.
1. Provide operating devices that do not require tight grasping, pinching, or twisting of the wrist and that operate with a force of not more than 5 lbf (22.2 N).
2. Comply with the following maximum opening-force requirements:
a. Interior, Non-Fire-Rated Hinged Doors: 5 lbf (22.2 N) applied perpendicular to door.
b. Fire Doors: Minimum opening force allowable by authorities having jurisdiction.
3. Bevel raised thresholds with a slope of not more than 1:2. Provide thresholds not more than 1/2 inch (13 mm) high.
4. Closers: Adjust door and gate closer sweep periods so that, from an open position of 90 degrees, the time required to move the door to a position of 12 degrees from the latch is 5 seconds minimum.
1.4 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A. Deliver keys and permanent cores to COR by registered mail or overnight package service.
1.5 WARRANTY
A. Special Warranty: Manufacturer's standard form in which manufacturer agrees to repair or replace components of door hardware that fail in materials or workmanship within specified warranty period.
1. Warranty Period: Three years from date of Substantial Completion, unless otherwise indicated.
a. Exit Devices: Two years from date of Substantial Completion.
b. Manual Closers: 10 years from date of Substantial Completion.
1.6 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT
A. No separate payment will be made for the work included under this section; rather payment shall be considered to be included in the items of work listed in the Schedule of Items.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 SCHEDULED DOOR HARDWARE
A. Provide door hardware for each door to comply with requirements in this Section.
1. Door Hardware Sets: Provide quantity, item, size, finish or color indicated, products equivalent in function and comparable in quality to named products.
2. Sequence of Operation: Provide electrified door hardware function, sequence of operation, and interface with other building control systems indicated.
B. Designations: Requirements for design, grade, function, finish, size, and other distinctive qualities of each type of door hardware are indicated in Part 4 "Door Hardware Schedule" Article. Products are identified by using door hardware designations, as follows:
1. Named Manufacturers' Products: Manufacturer and product designation are listed for each door hardware type required for the purpose of establishing minimum requirements. Manufacturers' names are abbreviated in Part 4 "Door Hardware Schedule" Article.
2.2 HINGES, GENERAL
A. Quantity: Provide the following, unless otherwise indicated:
1. Three Hinges: For doors with heights 61 to 90 inches.
B. Template Requirements: Except for hinges and pivots to be installed entirely (both leaves) into wood doors and frames, provide only template-produced units.
C. Hinge Weight: Unless otherwise indicated, provide the following:
1. Entrance Doors: Heavy-weight hinges.
2. Doors with Closers: Antifriction-bearing hinges.
3. Interior Doors: Standard-weight hinges.
D. Hinge Base Metal: Unless otherwise indicated, provide the following:
1. Exterior Hinges: Stainless steel, with stainless-steel pin.
