About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for technical enhancements to the existing Teach the Teacher system for the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM). Dated 22 September 2026, the SOW engages Invisible Arts, LLC to develop, test, and deploy software and hardware enhancements to the Hyve/Cypher 8 platform. The primary place of performance is USAFSAM, Franzello Library, located at 2510 N 5th Street, Building 840, Room W100, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio 45433, with authorization for off-site development at the Contractor's facility as needed to complete development milestones prior to on-site integration.

The Contractor shall execute three primary technical enhancement tasks. Task 3.1, Improved Avatar Presentation, requires high-fidelity character rendering and expanded emotional expressiveness using the Unreal Engine 5.6 rendering pipeline, including development of high-resolution character models with improved anatomical detail and implementation of dynamic facial expressions and gestures during avatar-trainee interactions. Task 3.2, Richer Scenario Fidelity, requires enhancement of the core scenario engine to deliver more realistic, adaptive, and pedagogically effective training interactions through implementation of multi-layered behavioral logic, refinement of automated classification algorithms to detect instructor teaching strategies in real time, and development of upgraded post-simulation reporting mechanisms for detailed After Action Review (AAR) metrics. Task 3.3, Offline Inference Optimization, requires optimization of system architecture to support fully functional offline operations, including optimization of AI models for low-latency inference to achieve real-time natural dialogue and design of a hardened, self-contained hardware configuration for mobile field delivery. The Government shall provide Subject Matter Experts, existing curriculum materials, technical reference data, course synopses, and targeted learning objectives. No Government Furnished Property is provided. Government Points of Contact include Program Manager Mark Stickles (711 HPW/OMP) and Technical Lead Justeen Swihart, Chief of Educational Research & Technology Branch (USAFSAM/ED), both located at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.

STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

Project Title: AI Classroom / Teach the Teacher System

Date: 22 September 2026

1.0 INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this Statement of Work (SOW) is to define the requirements for providing the United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM) with technical enhancements to the existing Teach the Teacher system.

2.0 SCOPE

Invisible Arts, LLC (hereinafter referred to as the “Contractor”) shall collaborate with the United States Air Force (USAF) to develop, test, and deploy enhancements to the existing software platform, Hyve/Cypher 8, originally developed by the

Contractor. The Contractor shall design, build, integrate, and deliver all software and hardware enhancements specified in Section 3.0 of this SOW.

3.0 TASKS AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

The Contractor shall execute the following technical enhancement tasks:

3.1 Improved Avatar Presentation

The Contractor shall deliver high-fidelity character rendering and expanded emotional expressiveness for all in-system avatars. These enhancements shall be implemented using the Unreal Engine 5.6 rendering pipeline and shall include:

• High-Fidelity Models: Development and integration of high-resolution character models with improved anatomical detail, shading, and visual realism.

• Expressive Emotional States: Implementation of an expanded range of dynamic facial expressions, gestures, and responsive emotional states during live avatar-trainee interactions.

• Engine Integration: Seamless optimization and integration within the Unreal

Engine 5.6 rendering pipeline to maintain target frame rates and visual fidelity.

3.2 Richer Scenario Fidelity

The Contractor shall enhance the core scenario engine to deliver more realistic, adaptive, and pedagogically effective instructional training interactions.

Enhancements shall include:

• Nuanced Hidden State Logic: Implementation of multi-layered behavioral logic and hidden state variables to drive unpredictable, realistic avatar reactions and learning curves.

• Intervention Classification: Refinement of automated classification algorithms to accurately detect, evaluate, and categorize instructor teaching strategies and pedagogical interventions in real time.

• Enhanced Debrief & After Action Review (AAR): Upgraded post-simulation reporting mechanisms capable of generating detailed, individualized AAR metrics and diagnostic debrief summaries per avatar.

3.3 Offline Inference Optimization

The Contractor shall optimize the system architecture to support fully functional offline (disconnected/edge) operations. Enhancements shall include:

• Low-Latency Inference: Optimization of underlying AI models and local execution pipelines to achieve accelerated response times necessary for real-time natural dialogue.

• Field Hardware Packaging: Design and assembly of a hardened, self-contained hardware configuration optimized for mobile field delivery, rapid setup, and standalone deployment.

4.0 PLACE OF PERFORMANCE

The primary place of performance shall be:

• Facility: USAFSAM, Franzello Library

• Address: 2510 N 5th Street, Building 840, Room W100

• Location: Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), Ohio 45433

Note: Off-site development at the Contractor’s facility is authorized as required to complete the development milestones prior to on-site integration.

5.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED PROPERTY AND

INFORMATION

5.1 Government Furnished Property (GFP)

• No Government supplies, equipment, or dedicated facilities are provided as

Government Furnished Property under this contract.

5.2 Government Furnished Information (GFI) & Support

• 5.2.1 Subject Matter Expertise: The Government shall make available relevant

Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), existing curriculum materials, and technical reference data necessary for the execution of contract tasks.

• 5.2.2 Course Materials and Synopsis: The Government shall provide access to relevant course synopses, targeted learning objectives that the simulated students are expected to acquire, and specific instructional methodologies that instructors will evaluate during training.
