About this file

This document is a Scope of Work (SOW) for the design of the Construct Service Building Annex and Ambulance Ramp project at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System - University Drive Campus. The project involves the design of a new 20,000 square foot, 3-story building with a basement, which will include an ambulance ramp, outpatient clinics on the first floor, mechanical space on the second floor, and support space in the basement. The design is required to accommodate future expansion of 3 additional floors. The SOW outlines the specific design requirements, submission formats, schedule, and collaboration expectations. It also details the VA's oversight of the design contract, security requirements, and environmental/sustainability considerations. The anticipated construction cost range is $10-20 million. The design contract will be competitively awarded as a firm-fixed-price contract under FAR Part 36. The VA is currently conducting market research to determine the appropriate socioeconomic set-aside, if any, for the design contract.
