About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a project by the VA Northern California Health Care System to install approximately 6,140 square feet of artificial grass around Building 642 Primary Care at the Mather Campus. The project aims to create areas without trip hazards and emphasize mobility, security, and ergonomic features for healthcare setting users. Key requirements include installing Imperial AN Fescue 65 artificial grass, procuring and installing galvanized steel trash racks/debris screens on two storm drain basins, filling the retention pond with river rock, and completing all site preparation and drainage installations according to manufacturer specifications.
The project has a 45-calendar day completion timeline from notice to proceed, with work to be performed Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The contractor must provide traffic control measures, alternate pedestrian routes, storm catch basin inlet protection, and training for facilities staff on artificial grass maintenance. Additional responsibilities include removing and disposing of existing vegetation, ensuring proper water drainage, and protecting existing structures and walkways during installation. The artificial grass must meet specific technical specifications, including a 15-year manufacturer warranty and compliance with various ASTM standards for performance and safety.
