This Statement of Work (SOW) defines the requirements to procure Design-Build (DB) services to design, construct, and make operational a complete and functional back-up generator system. The Contractor shall furnish all personnel, services, equipment, and materials necessary for the performance of the work set forth herein.
Part 1 General Requirements
1. Introduction: The purpose of this project is for the DB Contractor to develop a full set of construction documents and execute all design, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning services required to deliver a turn-key emergency power system.
The DB Contractor shall conduct a comprehensive facility electrical load study to accurately determine the existing electrical demands and loads to calculate the required capacity for the new backup generator system. The findings will form the basis of the design for a reliable emergency power system that ensures continuity of operations for critical facility functions during a primary power outage.
This study is critical for accurately sizing the new backup generator, transfer switch, and associated components. The study will identify the total connected load, peak demand, and critical loads that must be supported by the generator to ensure the new system is appropriately sized, prevents overloads, ensures reliable operation during a power outage, and meets the facility's emergency power requirements.
