About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for Tape Testing Service for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY). The SOW requires a contractor to perform testing on ten different tape samples across multiple contract/NSN numbers, with work to be conducted at the contractor's facility. The testing involves evaluating red tapes for specific characteristics using standardized ASTM testing procedures, including measurements for adhesion to steel and backing, quick stick, elongation, tensile strength, curling property, water penetration rate, and unwind properties. Each characteristic has precise value requirements and corresponding test methods, with tolerances typically ranging within +/- 10%. The period of performance begins upon award via email from NNSY Purchasing Agent (Code 411), with the contractor required to segregate and maintain identification of NNSY materials separately from other materials during testing.
