Subject The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Field Acquisition Office, intends to make a single award for the provision of one Ultrasound Technician (to include Ultrasound equipment to conduct services) for the inmate population at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Victorville located in Victorville, California. The contractor must provide the personnel and furnish all equipment necessary to conduct ultrasound services on site. General information regarding the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and its facilities is located at www.bop.gov.

Place of Performance FCC Victorville 13777 Air Expressway Blvd Victorville, CA 92394

Schedule Ultrasound services will be required two (2) days monthly, normally consisting of up to eight (8), one-hour sessions per day, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays). Specific days of the week will be coordinated in advance by the Health Services Administrator (HSA) or Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). Work hours will normally be scheduled between 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period, if applicable. The facility is expected to require an estimated 192 sessions annually. The COR or HSA will be responsible for defining each weekly schedule. Upon agreement, any changes to the schedule must be coordinated with the HSA or COR assigned. A mutually agreed upon schedule will be determined following award.

The schedule is subject to change based on the variable needs of the institution and the unpredictable nature of the correctional environment. Advance notice of schedule changes will be given whenever possible. Due to the nature of the correctional setting, delays in performance of work may be expected. Such delays may include, but are not limited to inclement weather, electrical or mechanical problems, or other security matters. In the event of any delay in performance, the contract employee will be paid for a minimum one (1) session.

Normally, any remaining sessions for that day will be suspended, the contract employee will be free to leave, and the contract employee will not be paid for the remaining incomplete sessions. However, if the institution requests that the contract employee remain at the institution for eventual performance, the contract employee will be paid for such sessions. In the event of any scheduled absence of more than a month, the contractor may be expected to provide replacement coverage, unless prior arrangements have been made between the contractor and the HSA or COR. Upon agreement, any changes to the schedules must be coordinated with the Contracting Officer.
