About this file
This document is a Scope of Work (SOW) for pharmaceutical waste disposal services for the Tohatchi Health Center Pharmacy Department. The SOW outlines a comprehensive waste management solution that includes waste characterization, collection, transportation, staff training, and ongoing support, with services tailored to the specific needs of the pharmacy. The period of performance spans four years from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2029, with a base year and three option years, to be performed at the Tohatchi Health Center in New Mexico.
Key services include waste identification (RCRA, DOT, DEA, and state-specific classifications), facility-wide waste segregation and collection, staff training programs, guidance on packaging and labeling, tracked shipping, and continuous aftercare support. The service differs from RxReturns by managing pharmaceutical waste with opened or expired containers, focusing on comprehensive regulatory compliance and safety. The procurement is associated with a Sources Sought Notice under the Indian Health Service, with a preference for Indian economic enterprises under the Buy Indian Act, and will use NAICS code 562112 for Hazardous Waste Collection.
