Description of Water Jet Stripper Requirement

The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements to produce Water Jet Stripper for Tinker Air Force Base (AFB). The intent is for the Government to purchase at least one Water Jet Stripper and its ancillary equipment, with delivery and installation included, with the specifications listed below (or similar). The following descriptions are based upon the draft Statement of Work for the purchase.

The Contractor shall be responsible for providing us with the following:

a) High Pressure Water Jet Stripping Equipment: Equipment will consist of a soundproofed waterproof enclosure containing a FANUC 6 axis arm with a mounted rotating nozzle capable of spraying water up to 20,000 PSI, and a robotically controlled turntable featuring fixture mounting capability which is controlled by the robotic controller for the FANUC arm. The turntable and robotic arm will be able to strip coatings from all areas of a bounding cylinder centered on the turntable with dimensions 16” Diameter by 36” Height. A Windows 11 computer with integration software will be connected to the FANUC controller and be able to monitor and modify process parameters and load programs mailto:blake.harms@us.af.mil mailto:jennifer.azbill@us.af.mil to the FANUC controller. A hoist will be mounted to the enclosure and be able to lift parts off the ground outside the enclosure and place them on the center of the turntable.

b) Support Equipment: Two water pumps/intensifiers capable of maintaining 20,000 PSI independently. The controller will be able to swap between the two so that one may be down for maintenance while the other can still run the equipment. A mist collector/filter will clear built up moisture from processing parts inside the enclosure. A series of filters to collect large particles produced during coating removal will be provided downstream of the wastewater removal pumps.

c) Installation and delivery: Equipment will be tested at the Contractor’s location prior to shipping.

After successful testing, equipment will be crated up securely and shipped to Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. A service engineer will be sent to Tinker AFB to install equipment on site and connect utilities, which will be provided within 50 feet of connection locations. The service engineer will stay on site until acceptance testing is completed.
