This is a Sources Sought Synopsis for the purpose of conducting market research in order to identify potential sources. As a disclaimer this is for informational purposes only and is not a solicitation for pricing and/or offers.
The Government has a requirement for one smokejumper pilot to operate on an on-call basis a Twin Otter, DHC-6-300 airplane. The intended contract will be for 1 base year, with 4 option years that may be exercised at the Government’s discretion. Capability statements from interested parties shall include the DUNS number, Small Business status, and brief description of qualifications.
Location of Performance: Boise, ID
Pilots are required to respond within 36-hours of notice from the Government.

Technical Requirements
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certificated commercial pilot certificate with airplane multiengine land rating and instrument –airplane rating or greater.
FAA 2nd class medical certificate or greater.
Be a U.S. Citizen.
Minimum Pilot-in-Command time accumulated as follows
1,500 hours Total pilot time.
1,200 hours PIC, airplanes.
200 hours PIC category and class to be flown.
75 hours PIC actual or simulated instrument flight time (including 50 hours in flight).
100 hours PIC night flying to include the recent flight experience requirements of Federal Aviation Regulation 61.57(d).
100 hours PIC turbo prop.
200 hours…of low-level flight (below 500 feet AGL) in aircraft to include aerial fire suppression, close air support or attack missions .
100 hours Total time in category, preceding 12 months.
10 hours in a DHC-6-300 airplane in the last 12 months.
50 hours PIC in DHC-6-300 to be used on this contract.

Last 90 days compliance with 14 CFR 61.57 or 135.247 as appropriate
