About this file

This Sources Sought notice is a market research document issued by the US Air Force to assess industry capabilities for a Fire Pump Operations Training Simulator. The simulator must be a modular, full-size training system designed to replicate a fire engine pump panel, available in top-mount and side-mount configurations, featuring authentic OEM hardware and LCD displays within a free-standing cabinet. Key technical requirements include accurately emulating hydraulics, supporting multiple water sources and pump/hose configurations, software-simulated internal pump operations, and an Instructor Operator Station with touchscreen interface for controlling simulations and assessing student performance.

Interested parties are required to submit a ten-page response by 28 May 2025 at 4:00 PM Central European Time via email to specified Air Force contacts. The response must include a capability statement, past performance description, feedback on requirements, point of contact information, and SAM registration confirmation. The Air Force emphasizes that this is a market research exercise and does not constitute a commitment to contract, nor will respondents be reimbursed for response costs. Responses may inform subsequent solicitation requirements, and the Air Force reserves the right to request additional information or demonstrations from respondents.

SOURCES SOUGHT:

Fire Pump Operations Training Simulator

This Sources Sought is being issued in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 10, Market Research. It is for information, planning and market research purposes only and shall not be construed as either a solicitation or obligation on the part of the US Air Force. The US Air Force will use this market research information to assess the market's capability to successfully meet the Air Force's requirements for the acquisition of a full-scale hardware/software-based Pump Operations Training Simulator.

The fire pump operation training simulator must be a modular, full-size training system designed to replicate the operation of a fire engine pump panel. Available in top-mount and side-mount configurations, it should include a combination of authentic OEM hardware and LCD displays within a free-standing cabinet. The simulator must accurately emulate hydraulics, various water sources (pressurized and static), and support multiple pumps, nozzles, and hose configurations. Its software must simulate internal pump operations, allowing trainees to experience realistic scenarios without the use of actual water or foam, thereby reducing environmental impact. The system needs to include an Instructor Operator Station (IOS) with a touchscreen interface, enabling instructors to control simulations, set conditions, insert malfunctions, and assess student performance. The simulator must operate on standard 115V/15Amp power and is designed to fit through standard doorways, facilitating easy installation in classroom environments. See below summarized technical specifications.
