Model-Based Systems Analysis and Engineering for the Sustainable Flight National Partnership

NASA Glenn Research Center (NASA GRC) is hereby soliciting information from potential sources for Model-Based Systems Analysis and Engineering (MBSA&E) for the Sustainable Flight National Partnership (SFNP).

NASA GRC is seeking capability statements from all interested parties, including all socioeconomic categories of Small Businesses and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)/Minority Institutions (MI), and members of the underserved communities as defined by Executive Order 13985, Advancing Racial Equity And Support For Underserved Communities Through The Federal Government, for the purposes of determining the appropriate level of competition and/or small business subcontracting goals for MBSA&E. The Government reserves the right to consider a Small, 8(a), Women-owned (WOSB), Service Disabled Veteran (SD- VOSB), Economically Disadvantaged Women-owned Small Business (EDWOSB) or HUBZone business set-aside based on responses received.

NASA Aeronautics is engaging with industry, academic, and other agencies through the Sustainable Flight National Partnership (SFNP) to accomplish the aviation community’s goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. The SFNP is a significant undertaking, involving numerous NASA Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD) programs and projects with the unifying goal to identify, mature, and demonstrate technologies deemed enabling for a next-generation, subsonic, commercial aircraft. The Advanced Air Transport Technology (AATT) Project is a contributing member of the SFNP and is tasked with integrating simulation data, ground test data, and flight demonstration data for systems level vision vehicle performance and technology assessments. This effort toward collating and integrating technology and vehicle data across the SFNP has been dubbed Model-Based Systems Analysis & Engineering (MBSA&E) and is being led by the AATT Project. In order to accomplish this, NASA intends to collaborate with industry to stimulate innovation, develop key architectural and framework components for the envisaged MBSA&E framework, and develop critical advanced concept and technology-based model components to support the MBSA&E effort for the SFNP.
