II. Activity Background and Description
Kosovo’s economic progression is constrained by limited investment and access to diversified finance, and these challenges need to be addressed for the country to reach its full potential. In response to these issues, USAID/Kosovo’s sustainable economic growth work focuses on developing Kosovo’s private sector and modernizing the business environment. USAID/Kosovo promotes linkages between the private sector and new markets, presses for productive dialogue between the private sector and the government, and identifies new and existing actors and other industry associations with high growth potential to ensure sustainable economic growth. Additionally, in the spirit of encouraging self-reliance, USAID/Kosovo looks for opportunities to leverage local private sector resources to co-finance Kosovo’s development initiatives and to co-create sustainable solutions for growth.
