SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE

1. Solicitation Number: 75N95020Q00192

2. Title: KDEL receptor antibodies

3. Classification Code: 6640

4. NAICS Code: 334516 - Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing

Dollars or Number of Employees: 1,000

5. Description:

This is a Small Business Sources Sought notice. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding: (1) the availability and capability of qualified small business sources; (2) whether they are small businesses; HUBZone small businesses; service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses; 8(a) small businesses; veteran-owned small businesses; woman-owned small businesses; or small disadvantaged businesses; and (3) their size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed acquisition. Your responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible. An organization that is not considered a small business under the applicable NAICS code should not submit a response to this notice.

This notice is issued to help determine the availability of qualified companies technically capable of meeting the Government requirement and to determine the method of acquisition. It is not construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Responses will not be considered as proposals or quotes. No award will be made as a result of this notice. The Government will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by the respondents to this notice. This notice is strictly for research and information purposes only.

Background:

The mission of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) Intramural Research Program (IRP) is to conduct state-of-the-art research on basic mechanisms that underlie drug abuse and addiction and to develop new methods for the treatment of drug abuse and addiction. Research is supported at the molecular, genetic, cellular, animal, and clinical levels and is conceptually integrated, highly innovative, and focused on major problems in the field. The long-term goal of the research is to better understand the biological and behavioral factors contributing to initiation, maintenance, and elimination of drug abuse and addiction (and associated diseases), and to translate this knowledge into improved strategies for preventing, treating, and reducing the negative consequences for the individual and for society caused by drug abuse and addiction.

The Molecular Mechanisms of Cellular Stress and Inflammation (MMCIS) at the NIDA IRP was established for the purpose of studying the molecular mechanisms of cellular stress and inflammation that are caused by drugs of abuse. Part of these efforts is to study the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) exodosis. KDEL receptors (KDELRs) play an important part of ER exodosis. In order to study the KDELRs during ER stress and exodosis, antibodies are required to analyze the native receptors during normal, controlled or experimental conditions. The current KDELR antibodies on the market are not specific for each specific serotype nor are they specific to the KDELRs themselves.

Requirement:

MMCIS requires a company to produce monoclonal and polyclonal KDEL receptor (KDELR) antibodies for each of the subtypes of KDELR (KDELR1, KDELR2, KDELR3) separately.

Salient characteristics:

• Polyclonal antibody specific to KDEL receptor 1

• Polyclonal antibody specific to KDEL receptor 2

• Polyclonal antibody specific to KDEL receptor 3

• Monoclonal antibody and hybridoma specific to KDEL receptor 1

• Monoclonal antibody and hybridoma specific to KDEL receptor 2

Quantity: 1 of each type of KDEL receptor antibody listed above

Anticipated Delivery Date:

20-22 weeks after date of award
