About this file

This is a Sources Sought Notice and Request for Information (RFI) issued by the US Air Force for market research purposes regarding the acquisition of a ground penetrating radar (GPR) system. The Air Force is seeking to assess market capability to meet its requirements for GPR equipment that integrates with external Bluetooth-enabled GPS, includes a built-in GPS pole adapter with Map Mode capability for tracing operator steps and providing bird's-eye survey views, and can simultaneously place APWA color-coded marks on 2D data with geo-referenced mapping while collecting and creating 3D scans. The system must utilize a rugged Ethernet cable for tablet-to-antenna communication without Wi-Fi capability, with both GPR and tablet rated IP65 for rain, dust, and temperature extremes from -20°C to 40°C.

Specific technical specifications include a Panasonic G2 tablet controller with 10.1-inch WUXGA display, Intel Core i5-10310U processor, 9.5-hour battery operation, 350 MHz system frequency, 12 to 35-foot minimum-to-maximum range capability, and 3D scan functionality with real-time filtering and multiple display modes. The equipment must weigh 37 pounds with tablet and battery, measure 22 x 19.25 x 12.5 inches when folded, operate at -20°C to 40°C, and meet MIL-STD-810H durability standards with 30G shock and vibration testing. Responses are due by May 29, 2026 at 4:00 PM Central European Time and must address technical capability, past performance, potential requirement improvements, pricing information, company structure, CAGE code, and SAM registration confirmation. Delivery is required to Aviano Air Base, Italy, with respondents asked to specify calendar days from award date. The solicitation number is FA5682GroundPenetratingRDR, and responses should be submitted via email to Francesca Corazzin or Melissa Maurhart.
