Sources Sought Response Form NAICS Code: 621511 PSC Code: Q403 Interested firms please respond with this information form and the following requested information.
The 175th Fire and Emergency Services team responds to emergencies for the base and nearby areas. Their duties often involve physical demands and require specialized personal protective equipment (PPE). Initial firefighter medical exams assess whether individuals are medically fit for duty, including safely wearing respirators, and monitor potential exposure-related health risks such as respiratory injuries from smoke inhalation. These examinations comply with OSHA, CFR regulations, and DoD instructions, ensuring employees are screened for workplace exposure impacts. The medical surveillance program is designed to enhance readiness through early detection and prevention of occupational health issues. Hazards are mitigated using engineering and administrative controls, supplemented by PPE for unmitigated risks. Medical evaluations ensure employees are fit to perform tasks safely and properly use PPE. Workers in hazardous environments undergo medical exams at baseline, semiannually, annually, and after exposure ends, with follow-ups as needed to monitor long-term health effects.
