Sources Sought Announcement – Tree Removal at West Point Military Academy
This is a Sources Sought Announcement issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District to assess market capability for tree removal services at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. The project requires clearing all trees greater than 3 inches in diameter at breast height from approximately 1 acre of inclined rock face located below Thayer Hall. Trees must be felled between November 1, 2026 and March 30, 2027, cut flush to ground as practicable, with all felled material hauled offsite and disposed. The rock face rises over 100 feet vertically in places and ranges from vertical to approximately 1V:1H slope, with site access limited to the toe of the rock face due to a multistory building constructed into the slope at the crest.
Interested firms—both small and large businesses—should submit responses by June 26, 2026 to Brian Mannion at Brian.T.Mannion@usace.army.mil. This announcement is for information purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal, solicitation mailing list placement, or binding commitment. The government will not pay for materials or data provided in response to this market survey, nor will it return submitted information. Survey results are valid for one year from the announcement date. Additional information is available through the New England District website at www.nae.usace.army.mil.
