THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or request for quotes and no contract will be awarded from this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications or drawings available at this time, except as noted below.
Military Sealift Command Norfolk has a requirement for the USS FRANK CABLE (AS-40) for a Regular Overhaul/Dry Docking, on/about 1 November 2022 for 180 days. The place of performance will be at a Contractor’s facility on the West Coast.
While the finalized list of work items is still under development, a draft list is separately attached to this notice and a list of the noteworthy work is as follows:
1) General Services for Ship
2) Structural Repairs throughout the ship
3) Preservation of Tanks, Voids, and Cofferdams
4) Fixed Ballast Install
5) Boiler Foundation Repair
6) Boiler Open and Inspect
7) Boiler Sliding Feet Maintenance
8) CHT Piping Replacement
9) SSTG Steam Turbine and Reduction Gear Servicing
10) Propulsion Shaft Removal and Replacement
11) Watertight Closure Repairs
12) Underwater Hull and Freeboard Painting
13) Freeboard Preservation
14) Mooring of APL barge and providing General Services
Mooring arrangement drawings are available for the USS FRANK CABLE and APL Barge upon submission of the attached Non-Disclosure Agreement. Please provide a response demonstrating your firm’s experience in performing similar work. This procurement will be solicited under NAICS Code 336611, Ship Building and Repair, which has a size standard of 1,250 employees. Indicate if your company is a large or small business, and if a small business, indicate if you fall within any of the further classifications (HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, etc.)
