DETAILS:

Ellsworth AFB is looking for a toolbox solution that will work best with a very spread out flightline with multiple aircraft parking areas. This requires toolboxes to be designed in a way that allows extreme versatility in transportation methods both by vehicle and by foot.

The Government is looking for information on a modular toolbox design, with multiple configuration options. This box needs to have a minimum of 30-inch-wide drawers. The drawers need to have integral latches to prevent drawers from opening inadvertently. There must be a way to lock the drawers closed with a pad lock. Each drawer needs to have ball bearing full extension drawer slides The box system must have a removable base with 4 castering wheels with integrated brakes. The Casters must be lockable in multiple positions to prevent rolling if the brakes were to fail. The casters wheels need to be solid rubber or high strength plastic with a minimum of 4 inches in diameter. The maximum empty weight for each module needs to be a less than 45 pounds. Each module needs to have a storage capacity of 50 pounds or more.

Currently, only the DeWalt Tough System 2.0 DXL System (Part Numbers: DWST08520, DWST08510, DWST08530, DWST08550) were found to fit the Government’s requirements. An equivalent toolbox solution that will meet the requirements stated above would be welcome.
