About this file

This is a Sources Sought Notice issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), for market research purposes. The FDA is seeking qualified small business sources to provide two specific high-power RF amplifiers: an E&I 2400L Power Amplifier and an E&I A300 Power Amplifier. These amplifiers will support regulatory science research on therapeutic ultrasound (histotripsy) devices and will be used to generate and characterize acoustic pressure and temperature fields. The required equipment must operate across a frequency range of 10 kHz to 35 MHz, with minimum rated power of 400 watts (10 kHz to 10 MHz) and 300 watts (10 MHz to 35 MHz), 55 dB minimum gain, 50-ohm impedance, AC input of 100-264 VAC at 47-63 Hz, Class A operation, 0-40°C operating temperature, and forced air cooling.

Interested small businesses must submit a capability statement by June 2, 2026, at 12:00 PM Eastern Time via email to the point of contact listed on SAM.gov. The submission should be limited to ten pages in PDF or Word format and must include company information, business size and socioeconomic status, capability to provide the specified equipment (whether as manufacturer or reseller), past performance examples from the last three years, delivery and installation capability within 90 days of contract award, warranty confirmation (three-year manufacturer's warranty with optional one-year extension), and active SAM.gov registration with Unique Entity Identifier. The notice emphasizes this is market research only and does not constitute a formal solicitation, Request for Proposal, or Request for Quotation. Deliverables include technical documentation, installation and training at the FDA White Oak Campus in Silver Spring, Maryland, and warranty support.
