Sources Sought Batteries and charging equipment
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A
REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR QUOTATION OR AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF A
SOLICITATION. This sources sought request for information is for the purpose of conducting market research to provide data for planning purposes. This sources sought synopsis announcement does not constitute a formal solicitation and is not a request for proposal, request for quote, invitation for bid, does not obligate the government to award a contract, issue a solicitation, reimburse respondents for any proposal preparation and/or submittal costs, nor does its issuance in any way restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submittals will not be returned to the sender.
The United States Air Force, 7th Contracting Squadron, located on Dyess Air Force Base, in Abilene Texas is seeking potential sources capable of manufacturing of tactical communication device batteries and battery charger solutions for garrison and field usage meeting the standards put forth in MIL-PRF-32383/3 like in kind to BREN-TRONICS FLEX charger. The item must have the ability to interchange the charging adapter to support different batteries used by the unit.
A charging adapter that provides a small, rugged, and packable charging solution that is able to use input power from a variety of sources in the field. The user requires a high-performance rechargeable Li Ion BB-2590 battery that is rated to at least 298-watt hours and can operate in temperatures between -25 degrees F to 140 degrees F. Also requires a portable charging solution that can provide up to 1000 watts of charging capability, has flexible input power sources (AC, DC, solar), lightweight, and has interchangeable adapters to customize the charger to support different batteries. Additionally, requires a smaller and rugged field charging solutions that support the charging of different batteries, has flexible input power sources (AC, DC, solar), and can fit inside of a smaller assault pack or rucksack. Interested firms are invited to submit a Statement of Capability (SOC) showing the company's ability to fulfill the requirement above. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. This is not a solicitation, nor will a solicitation be issued as a result of this announcement, and no award shall be made as a result of this announcement. In the event that a solicitation is developed, it will be assigned a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) number or Request for Quotation (RFQ), and the announcement may be published on SAM.gov.
Responses to this notice will assist the government in identifying potential sources and determining if a sole source or set-aside of the solicitation is appropriate. Firms responding to this announcement should include company name, cage code, point of contact, address, phone number. The Government reserves the right to set-aside any subsequent acquisition based upon known sources and/or responses to this synopsis. Responses are requested no later than 3:00 P.M. (Central Standard Time - CST) on 28 May 2025.

Any information submitted by respondents to this sources sought is voluntary. This sources sought notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government reimburse any costs associated with the submission of information in response to this notice. Respondents will not individually be notified of the results of any government assessments. The Government's evaluation of the capability statements received will factor into whether any forthcoming solicitation will be conducted as a full and open competition or other than full and open. Respondents will receive notice of solicitation once it is posted.
