About this file

This document is a Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS) issued by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, seeking potential manufacturing/supply sources for electronic components. The specific item is an electronic component (NSN: 5998-01-630-5352, Part Number: 13647234-4) supporting the PATRIOT weapon system, which requires engineering source approval by the design control activity. The solicitation (SPRRA2-25-R-0115) is currently being procured under FAR 6.302-1(a)(1) with only one responsible source, and DLA is interested in identifying potential suppliers from various small business categories, including 8(a), service-disabled veteran-owned, HUBZone, and women-owned small businesses.

The synopsis emphasizes that contractors must meet prequalification requirements and be prepared to handle comprehensive manufacturing responsibilities, including supply chain management, logistics, parts forecasting, long-lead procurement, and addressing potential obsolescence issues. A critical requirement is maintaining an active United States/Canada Joint Certification Program (JCP) certification to access export-controlled data. The document explicitly states that this is an informational announcement only, does not constitute a formal solicitation, and imposes no obligation on the government to award a contract. Interested firms are encouraged to seek source approval by visiting AvMC's public website for potential future competitive opportunities.
